re: standard handcuffs being hard to pick, you're kidding right? Most hinged cuffs use standard handcuff keys. High security cuffs are a totally different, and have nothing to do with the hinge (though many have that or are solid). Check out Peerless' cuffs featuring the ASSA Desmo locks (or Medeco if you're cuffing CIA agents or are hyper-paranoid *lol*). There is a reason magicians can escape from ten standard cuffs in 60 seconds and it's not magic.

first off thos arent even police issue handcuffs the new ones don't have a chain but a hinge a hinge so close togather that even your skinny little ass cant weasle them from under yourself and picking them old or new models is damn near impossible. your best bet is to make a dash and saw them off later. that is if you can run in cuffs it doesnt seem that hard to run in them but iknow first hand it is. and if you trip good luck breaking your fall without landing on your face or chest

I promice you guys that its not that easy. For magic or entertainment yes. But cops, as I am in a pre-academy training myself, are trained to apply them in such a manner that this is nearly impossbile. And with the double lock enguaged, its a pain in the ass and you WILL be detected before you can get out. Plus cops are armed and ready to shoot. So dont try this. Trust me, it wont end well.
