@ghilliemann - I can still use the key whenever I like, sounds like you just jealous, hating, or whatever your primitive brain calls it because YOU CANT AFFORD IT ON YOUR CAR!!! WAIT do you even have a car? Probably not! And if you do it wouldn't be worth it to put such a advance piece of technology into it! So with that keep your negative remarks to your self...
@ghilliemann You actually need to insert the key into the ignition anyway. The remote start feature is more for starting the car up and being able to leave it on cold mornings etc... If someone tried to steal the car, it would automatically shut the engine down due to the key not being in the ignition.
@LOL.... - If your looking for alarm and remote starter you would need the viper alarm and a smart start module. I am almost certain they have a all in one module if that's the route you wanna go. My car had a factory alarm so I just opted for the smart start remote starter. Now if you start your car with either iPhone or key fob and you get into your vehicle you would need to put in the key and simply turn. It won't let you drive off without the key. It has a security feature that once you pu
Would I need to purchase 2 things for this? A viper alarm security system w/ remote entry etc, and a Viper SmartStart? Also, once you start the car with iPhone or whatsoever, you would still need to put in the key to drive correct? Am thinking about throwing a Viper car alarm system into my car very soon.
@LBD2...- Yes the app is free in the app store. When the device is installed into your car they (the installer) will contact viper and you will do a quick registration. Once completed you will make a login with a password and then your app on your phone will be able to communicate with your car. As far as a service fee there is like a 3 year 100 dollar charge. I don't know If that has changed since last year.
@Turbo... - The smart start module is universal. Works with mostly any viper alarm system. As far as model to my viper alarm system I can't recall but it was a simple lock and unlock type that I added so that I can add the smart start to it. You can not just have a smart start module by it self. You have to have some type of viper system installed already. Make sense?
@iRou... - there is no way to hack because how this works is simple. Just imagine your sending a text message to your car and that is now it receives it commands to do what it does.
I will get that up for you ASAP. As soon as the alarm goes off I get a text and a siren type sound from the app's notification from viper that the alarm was triggered. It's pretty cool! I will show you in a new video.
Could you please do a video demonstration on how the your iPhone pages you once your car alarm goes off? I just need to know if the iPhone control is worth it or should I just stick to the 2-way pager button instead.
@goDx- how do you mean? If your referring to how did I have it installed. I went to a local electronic shop that installs vipers remote starters and then had them install smart start on top of that. The app for the phone can be found on the app store.
I can do this from anywhere that there is a cell signal. I'm in Illinois and I can open, start her up, etc from Hawaii so as long as there is a signal.
@Calviazteca - No it's the real deal. It's a remote starter from the company Viper. Look it up online and you will it's not fake I use it almost everyday.
@Spence... - yes this is for real! What it is is a viper remote starter with smart start. there is a cell module that uses 3G signal and the app I'm using is from viper that can be found in the app store from apple. You link up with viper and the results you see in the video.
