I'll bet you the Dow sell-off was all institutional stuff from Europe trying like hell to raise cash. The balance sheet giveth and the balance sheet taketh away. Not too worried honestly myself. In fact, I think it has been coming for at least 6 weeks now. The Dow was 'over-priced' in the global circumstances while employment numbers in the USA didn't justify that much enthusiasm. Still, I'll bet we get back all of it and more by the end of May.
euro---failed experiment, European union---failed experiment, soccer---sport of losers, Europeans---lazy fools who think a society can function if people only work 35 hours a week, NATO---failed experiment, political correctness---failed ideology, IMF---failed experiment, World Bank---failed experiment, the United Nations---failed experiment, trying to hold talks with Middle Eastern/African/Central Asian Islamofanatics---failed policy, Europe---failed continent
Difficult days are coming for the PIIGS. EU boys and girls focus on the social struggle of Greece. Don't read the mainstream media. Yesterday for example there were 150000 protesters in front of the greek parliament shouting for a referendum and elections.
Liar! Get ready for EU wide civil unrest over the coming year or so...it will happen. Greece is just the end of the beginning. How could it be that Greece is the only corrupt overspending administration in the EU zone, it simply cannot be. Now that the Bail out clause has been broken, they will all want to repeat this action, and be given hand outs for their own out of control spending and pocket lining agendas. Wake up. The Germans will most definitely not be happy with this, as the UK also. +F
@sinclair61 funny you're saying "they"? As I assume you're an European, why shouldn't you say we? Because you think you or your people, your government are better. Sorry to tell you they aren't. Neither your government nor your people. Probably your people want to pay off their debt, like we Germans do and know it's necessary. Instead of calling the ones that were most faithful to their mission liars, why don't you protest those that have mistreated their countries with debt for years?

If more fiscal responsibility is now demanded of EU members, wouldn't that affect the speed of the recovery by restraining the public sector?
