  • Someone has listed him as doing a 190 snatch. He looks good for 245 in C/J, so that, combined with 190, puts him comfortably ahead of Akkaev's Paris total of 430. Even if he 'only' did 240, he'd tie that result. Both Akkaev and Klokov are phenomenal lifters, but they looked like they were at or near their limit in Paris. This new guy makes it look easy in comparison. If I recall Botev and Zakharevich both did 250 at 110, another Russian did 240 at 100, and the late, great Krapaty did 235 at 90.

  • There is Russian footage of him doing 240 kg by valera7piterskiy. Rigert is happy because of the embarrassment of riches he has in this weight class, with Akkaev and Klokov in the wings. Akkaev did 198/232 in Paris, with Klokov only a kilo or two behind, but geez, these WR C&J's from David B look.....dare I say it?....easy! He looks good for 250! Bedzhanyan is an Armenian-sounding surname, so you wonder why that country doesn't have him lifting for them. WR's these days: hard to come by.

  • 200, 230, 238 ... Big jumps! Snatch best for David in this comp was 183 I think (must work on snatch to compete with Klokov and Akkaev in the 105s). Very impressive though!!
