your main dps is gonna come from your DOT, your steady, your arcane and your white damage all burst firing and hitting at once. aimed shot costs alot of mana and is a long cast. my rotation: MD MT, aimed, steady, arcane. then...DOT, steady, arcane, (the auto shot hits and the dot ticks, burst damage is where its at) if your low on mana weave steady and auto, keep viper up at all times on a boss
on my hunter fight start MD MT blow attack speed trinket/rapidfire/TBW when finish, white dmg / arcane shot / multi shot / steady / / / / / / never forget kill command do some extra dmg if i got 25% mana or lower aov and steady with white dmg i think aimed shot have no place in raid however the time it take to cast it u can use it to make just same mount of dmg [white dmg] we downd curator today ^^

Aimed shot to DPS throughout a fight? You guys fucking blow if you're doing that. And feigning/drinking in this fight should be done before 60%, after that it gets pretty intense and he needs to be burned down. Seriously though, aimed shot after a rapid fire pop? That's just retarded.

I am with sombhunt-you can use more than 1 mana pot in a fight - use a fel mana pot when u get around 5k mana,u can then use 1 3 min later,combined with the above items and also you have aspect of the viper = no drinking. Steady shot is a 700 hit - aimed shot adds 700 - aimed shot has a 3 sec cast steady a 1.5sec cast - you can get the same damage as a aimed shot with a steady/ auto as steady will not reset the autoshot timer, it will be a shorter cast time only costing 100 mana insted of 300.
ya, i'm always on top of the dmg meter on this fight as a hunter. i usually FD and drink somewhere around where prince is at 70%-75%, and save the super mana pot when i drop down around 3000 mana from topped off, so i can stay burnin him down durning phase 2
I'm sorry, Sombhunt, but that's not a good rotation for me. Aimed shot kept me on top of the damage, and I was working on mana conservation. FD + drinking = how a hunter does it.
sombhunt, wtf? L2play man. 70 Hunter here, and I've been in the encounter before. Without mana, you can't use any special shots, and auto shot isn't going to do a darn thing. If we hunters run oom, and have already used a Mana pot (and is on cooldown), then we have no choice other than to FD and drink or have a druid innervate you (and I'm aboslutely sure no half way decent druid would waste an innervate on a hunter). Dominus, nice work....sombhunt, /sigh....
Thanks for the advice. I hit third on the damage meters, so I did pretty well that fight. I didn't have those pots on me as I ran out on the previous boss fight.

Fel mana potions, dark runes, mageblood potions and mana oils can all be used to make sure you do not run out of mana.
As for rotation, Steady->Arcane->Auto->Steady->Auto->Steady->Multi->Auto->Steady->Auto
And repeat that. If arcane is on cooldown you can use that time to fit in a serpent sting or renew your hunters mark.
You need at least a 2.6 or slower speed ranged weapon. I suggest using a steadyshot macro with this rotation.

Do not use aimed shot(unless with Misdirection).
Dont FD and drink but use Super/Fel Mana potions.
