13:45 - just some shortcut advice, you can simply slide down the side of the Sphinx's head safely all the way down to the bottom instead of hopping all the way back to the other side and dropping down the ladder. Slide down backwards though, so you can grab the ledge when she drops.

They are jackals, symbolising Anubis, a funerary god.

Anubis is depicted as a jackal, or with the head of a jackal.
