I really think I could go on with the verses if I continued looking. Even in the Hebrew (since I only looked into the Greek usage). But I think you understand the point now.
Definition of blasphemy: "to speak irreverently about God or sacred things."
It doesn't solely apply to irreverence against God. Even if the word had a more limited scope in the Scriptures, in English it could have a broader meaning. But guess what? Even in the New Testament Greek the word (Gk: blasphēmeō) included irreverence towards holy people. In Romans 3:8, Paul says some people have "slanderously reported" (Paul uses "blasphēmeō" here) against them.

Blasphemy is irreverence toward holy personages, religious artifacts, customs, and beliefs. Not just of God. IE what you do is blasphemous.
