  • "The scanning is looking like a very fun and very rewarding system"

    HA!

  • lol 0:58 the toilet is called PP2

  • i love this game. I only wish you could go more places and maybe can travel to every planet with a noticeable population

  • lol kirby theam at the end

  • this game was so dull... the dialogue was like reading twilight... awful

  • @williamcuthberto you dont know what a good game is if u dont like ME2. this game is amazing.

  • Mass Effect 2 kicked ass but I hated a few things_ 1-Kaidan was only there for like 5 minutes in the whole game 2-Jacob cuz he annoyed the hell out of me and 3-Jack was a pain in the ass the whole game

  • @maxride1twilightFAN

1-Its not always kaiden, and who gives a fuck? IT makes sense considering there personality and there gonna be in 3

2-Then don't fucking talk to him or put him in your party, thats fucking simple

3-Jack is one of the most useful party members in the game and can pull more dps then Samara. So if you died with her in your party then you must really suck.

  • dude pull was always there

  • Really?

I've played through the game four times and never noticed it.

  • @Ownaholic pull was in 1 what are you talking about?

  • Scanning planets SUCKS.. takes way too long to do.

Load screens after you die is a pain in the ass, but doesn't happen often.

Hard to be a renegade without feeling like a complete douchebag

Otherwise, game kicks tons of ass, and now I am very eager to see Mass Effect 3

  • I hated scanning planets to but you know theres a Normandy upgrade that can make EDI do it for you? you just tell her what u want to find and she finds it for you

  • @maxride1twilightFAN thats tight, i didnt know that. i saw the upgrade for scanning but i figured itd make it go faster.

  • @maxride1twilightFAN oh lol nice lie, I got every possible update in the game. That upgrade is non-existent. And don't even try to lie further, I've done 4 complete walkthroughs. I no my shit.

  • one thing i like in mass effect is that once u beat the game you can play it as a different class and the game fells like its new

  • (sarcastic) WOW i didnt know that tps had character customization, upgrading, leveling up, deep character develpment, and hard choices

  • I've heard that this is more of a shooter than ME1, and they took out the majority of RPG elements in it, but added amazing combat? Any opinions on this...opinon?

  • Yeah, it's pretty much a shooter now. If you like 3rd person shooters you'll probably love it. If you like the rpg elements in the 1st (like me) you'll be pretty disappointed. A lot of the rpg and customition stuff is gone, but again if you like shooters more, you'll probably like it.

  • you GUYS bitch to much

  • We can take the shooting off and turn it into Heavy rain But that wold suck

How many RPG's have 100's Hours of Hack/Slashing and no one Complains

Soo the shooting Aspect its better now that dos not make it less of an RPG

  • @marcos27pr

I'm cool with most of the changes now, but they did cut back quite a few of the rpg elements to make it more of a shooter.

  • not that it really matters though. It's still a great game.

  • Honestly, I wouldn't sell it just yet. Some of the changes grow on you a lot more as you play it. The main story is still kind of weak, I played at least 15-20 hours before I learned anything new or big about the story. But after about the 10 hour mark I started getting hooked. And believe me, I hated it just as much as you at the start.

It's a bit closer to the original than you might think after the 1st few missions.

  • rpg elements are better and shooter elements are way better ten the first

  • RPG elements are not better. Shooter elements are, but not RPG. Still, a great game.

  • Alright then thank you

  • If they took out the majority of the customization, then it has LESS rpg elements...just letting you know

  • well it didnt really take any customization

in fact it put in more like actually being able to customize armor instead of finding new better armor all the time

    all my opinion though

i just like like every element of this game better

  • shes like a buddhist monk with small tits

  • if your shepard survives you can go back and finish the side missions

  • "Genetically engineered to be the perfect woman. I didn't know they were australian."

Well why the hell can't you engineer a person's accent - Oh wait.

  • Question (and please excuse me if this has already been answered); at the end of the game, can you still go around and do side missions, or is it like ME1 where you would have to keep a save before the last mission in order to go back for game completion purposes?

Or must you simply begin a new game with the existing profile?

    TIA

  • I believe it is the same as Mass Effect 1 to be honest. The game is very storyline-driven, so it would be kinda hard to go to the Citadel and such after the events; just a lot of unnecessary work for the devs.

  • I didn't play the first Mass Effect, but will I still be able to understand the story and enjoy this game?

  • Mass Effect 2 can be played independently.

However, if you play Mass Effect 1 first, you can better enjoy the storyline, the characters, as well as create the character/events in the galaxy around you, to your liking.

  • ^--The going price for ME1 is about $15.00

Make sure you have space to write it to your hard drive; otherwise, it really does take away some of the game quality of immersion. Not enough to make you sick of it, but as always, a game that runs smooth is much more enjoyable.

  • Lol there are definitely still elevators, and the loading screens are not interactive at all, just animated.

  • Ew. There shouldn't be.

I mean traditional elevators are supposed to be there, because they're a practical part of society.

But I meant the annoyingly-long elevators; it's in one of their trailers.

  • Nice review dude, im thinking about picking this game up this weekend...oh and can anyone tell me how many hours of gameplay are expected in mass effect 2?

  • I'm about 10 hours in and already on the second disk, not sure if that's reliable or not, but if after 10 hours I'm halfway done, I'm pretty dissapointed, Dragon Age was longer and that's only 1 disk.

  • Well to be honest, Dragon Age was meant to be insanely long; similar to Fable.

Mass Effect is more based around storyline, so it's limited as to what it can do. I think it may have felt like it was dragging on if it were any longer than 15-20 hours.

But again, the extras of the game add in a lot of gameplay, at least another 10 hours. (They did with ME1, and Bioware added a lot more this time around)

  • @Detholize 30 hours would be a good estimate if you are playing most/all of the missions and some random exploring. I did it in about 31-32 hours with everything completed.

  • venguard has been my fav since release :D

  • epic review mate, told me alot about the game..and yah made me laugh. 5/5

  • The ending jingle reminds me of an old eastern european song, maybe Jewish. Anyone know what the tune is called and for what game. Catchy shit indeed.

  • It's actually "Kirby's Dreamland", particularly from the original Super Smash Brothers for the N64.

I believe they have the song in the very very original Kirby games for the NES as well.

  • 1) I'm aware that it is called Salarian; that is what I said. I apologize if it sounded differently.

    2) Being in control of what they do and when they use their biotics / tech skills, that sounds a lot like a playable character.

    3) Mass Effect 1 never had actual ammo; and the incendiary bullets never actually lit anybody on fire for that matter. The only similarity is the cryo type. But the first point remains, because it is an entirely new system altogether, hence it was worth mentioning.

  • 1) Ok.

    2) A better term would be command-able, playable creates the assumption that one can play as one of the characters besides Shepard directly.

    3) Ok.

Just putting in my opinions, good video overall.

  • hell yea no elevators.

  • i dont think he will die just because your are a rogue. i think there will be another reason that might cause him to die. im betting he sacrifices himself. aka paragons are screwed. well extreme paragons

  • nice kaiden glitch u got there :)

  • That actually wasn't from me.

I forget who I found it from, but I thought it was fitting to be in the finale. (Wasn't my voice for the Kaidan video either)

  • It did make a good finale i salute u :)

  • The vanguard doesn't even look that good. It's either infiltrator, soldier or adept for me.

  • YEA...a gun that one shot kills....way to ruin it... lol. i odnt want a gun that kills in one shot.. lame.

  • 1 SHOT KILL WEAPONS WERE IN ME1 IF U NEW HOW TO SET IT UP AND THE RIGHT POWER UPS oops caps :)

  • @po0po0nanA yea, the spectre sniper rifles with the right mods and full sniper training could easily one shot alot of the bad guys

  • Well , as Is aid , If you have any Questions regarding ME ... just send em my way.

  • Depends on how early the Game gets here. ME came on the 20th.

On the other hand , we only do PC Games here. I used to play Consoles but gave up on them 15 years ago. NES , SNES , Sega Master , Sega 16-bit and that`s about it ... stopped right there.

So I can help ya out with PC Games , but not XBOX/PS ones.

  • In that case, be sure to give me the inside story on Starcraft II then. =]

And coincidentally, I just ordered a Sega Genesis for myself just this morning. I got back into it.

(And a new Xbox Elite just days before that. You should get into the 360, it's well worth it.)

  • Ouch ! Neah , my Boss is cool and female on top of that. =))

Anyways , if ya have any other questions , just send me a PM. I`ll be glad to answer any Question you might have.

  • I might just do that.

I'll be making a video on Final Fantasy in the future; about how early do you get to play games? Having some extra-insider information would be very beneficial.

  • Work for a Retailer here in EU. One of the benefits is playing Games ahead of time.

  • Ah cool. I work for GameStop in the US; needless to say I'd get murdered if I did something like that.

  • ... someone also mentioned AMMO. It works really well in the game because in longer fights it pushes you to use different Guns. I`m a Soldier and I have to use Shotguns in close-range , Assault Rifles in Mid-range and Snipers to kill distant targets. Of course the Heavy Weapon is crucial for Heavy Units.

Even on the Casual Dif. the game is harder then the forst one. You have to use different Weapons and Powers otherwise you will die one too many times.

  • I'm glad to hear that, because as we speak I'm finishing up a completion run on Insanity difficulty, and have only died on two different occasions.

But enough boasting...I was hoping they'd add more characterization to Garrus and Tali...Very glad to hear that Thane is cool as well.

Where, may I ask, have you gotten the game though? =]

  • Both Garrus and Tali are Squad members and both have ramped up in awesomeness , specially Garrus.

But out of all the Members Thane Krios is absolutely amazing. Him being an Assassin has absolutely nothing to do with his personality but again .. I wont spoil ... it will be a great reveal.

  • Been playing the Game for 4 days now and although I don`t want to spoil things.

    1. Garrus will make your heart race fast.[ he also has a kickass Nickname ]

    2. Grunt is a maniac and makes Wrex look like a pacifist.

    3. Subject Zero`s name is Jack.

Some downside from the first one is that you can only change your Squads Weapons, but not their Armors. However when they are"Loyal"you can cycle their appearance. Also just because you cant give em new Armor, doesn`t mean you cant boost them in other ways.

  • Thanks for not putting in any spoilers, but I'm definitely getting pumped.

But Subject Zero's name is Jack?...Wha?

Bioware actually paid a lot of money to air the new Mass Effect Launch Trailer during the Saints Vikings game tonight...which might I add, GO SAINTS!

Anywho, I hope Grunt doesn't disappoint, and I'm very happy Garrus is back.

  • hell no dude...i didnt really played the first one cuz i thoght there was some wrong shit wit it.. and its like me2 fixed everything i didnt like about 1...you could start now.. i know im hooked its what i really wanted for part 1... serriously i would straightup pay 100 bucks for a game like this production value is better than anything hollywood could come up with on scifi ... dude buy tis shit

  • No not at all, Mass Effect 2 can be played independently.

However, if you play Mass Effect 1 first, you can better enjoy the storyline, the characters, as well as create the character/events in the galaxy around you, to your liking.

  • great review!!!!!

  • Heck, they even make robotic legs for people now.

  • goddamn chuck norris.

  • some of the things they changed like ammo are gonna be intresting changes. but i doubt they will stop this game from being on of my top 10 games ever

  • i already beat the damn thing and its epic ...its beautyful ..its perfect to me ...fucking awesome...the intro alone makes me poopie in the pants... buy it may god strike me down i tell you this shits flawless...

  • is wrex playable if u saved him in the first one?

  • I don't believe he will be to be honest.

His role in the game is as a Krogan leader (despite his expressed feelings towards his race in ME1). I don't think he would be able to part with his groupies in order to rejoin Shepard. He'll be too pre-occupied with saving the race more than anything.

However, I'm 90% certain Garrus will be returning.

  • Yes it will be on two discs and that's not including extras I guess it's just gonna be an epic game. And their won't be any online bit there will be dlc

  • has online play been announced?

  • I don't believe there is any online play-- at least, I haven't run across any information about it.

To be honest I think the game would be a little too difficult to make for online-play.

On a side-note, I did hear rumors that the game will be on two discs rather than one. Unrelated information, I know, but I still found it interesting. =]

  • @Ownaholic two discs? that sounds cool, maybe it has some extras, or the game is that big. but i can see online being slightly difficult.

  • Yeah it has, so has a PS3 port.... seriously though, No.

  • Whositwhatnow?

  • very informative preview.

  • lol "im unpressed, cuz Rex could've just stared at it, and it woudlve blown up on its own."

But dude, u know that u can also pre-order Mass Effect 2 from Steam? It comes with same things + thier digital skecth book, audio books, and alot of other stuff

  • I wasn't aware of that, thanks for the note.

  • i want it....now.......and fast......

  • i loved this preview

  • hey do i have to get the first one to play the 2nd game?

  • No not at all, Mass Effect 2 can be played independently.

However, if you play Mass Effect 1 first, you can better enjoy the storyline, the characters, as well as create the character/events in the galaxy around you, to your liking.

  • so is it better to get it then and who did u get the trailer video?

  • I would definitely get it if I were you.

The original really is a fun game.

And I made this video, but the footage is copyrighted to Bioware.

  • well ya i no but how did u download it and edit it?

  • Oh, you can download essentially any video on the internet with "Replay Media Catcher".

It costs money for the full version, however.

(The trial version only lets you tape a % of the video, not the entire video)

You can edit videos using programs like Windows Media Player (your computer should have it already), or Sony Vegas Pro (costs money as well).

Additionally, you can use a microphone and the program Audacity (free) to capture your voice.

  • no what?

  • I believe he was answering your question earlier about if you have to buy the first one in order to play the second.

  • Ammm, I don't reeally see this as a review...You just merged scraps of info from what was already said on BioWare made vids :/ - if you haven't played it, it's not a Review...

An opinion, toughts - sure, but it's ain't review. You haven't even put those data correctly - Subject Zero for instance, makes a tatoo for some of her kills, those significant an hard ones, not every >.> please...

Could have made a note with links to other vids...

  • If you read the title, I state it to be a preview / review.

It is a preview to the game, as well as a review of what has been given already.

And the data is put together correctly and clearly. Every source I have read has stated what I have stated in the video, and it's a very small detail; I don't understand the reasoning for giving an attitude about it.

  • And if I may add:

This is a description of one of YOUR videos:

"A review of the game Modern Warfare 2, well before it is actually released. "

Aren't we being a bit hypocritical?

  • Great video, definitely subscribing and downloading the iPod Touch version.

  • Aussie accents like Miranda's are goddam annoying and this is coming from an Aussie.

Mostly because everyone I know who speaks with that particular type of accent are stuck up bitches.

  • Joker could always walk i believe,in the first one he says he just needs leg braces or crutches. If u notice he is walking akwardly, like with a limp. But anyways, great video man! I cant wait for this to drop.

  • you are damn right wrex was a bad ass but grunt is just a big meh it lacks the consistency and awsomeness of wrex and of course biotic powers

  • Special thanks to whoever downloaded the video for their iPhone / iPod Touch!

So, do you guys think I should make more in the future? I'd like to keep doing them, but I'd actually like to have an audience too.

  • Definitely make more.

  • Great vid, though. Nice summary of everything known to date on ME2.

  • If Shepard dies in someone's ME2 save file, it won't be possible to carry the save file over to ME3.

That Shepard died in ME2 and that was the end of his story. You'll either have to import a different save or not import at all.

Or replay ME2 using the Shepard that died in order to try and make him survive.

  • I'm pretty sure your choices will still carry over. Or maybe I'm wrong.

  • Nope, if he dies, the story for THAT specific Shepard is over.

  • That really sucks. It seems a bit redundant that the choices that end up killing Shepard wouldn't even carry over, but I guess that's how Bioware's doing it and there's nothing to be done about it.

  • Well, the ME trilogy is all about Shepard, so there's really no point in ME3 if he's dead.

I think they made it like this so you really feel punished for being an irresponsible player and showing ou that in this game, the choices really do matter.

  • We don't know what choices lead to Shepard's death, though.

It might be Renegade/Paragon, it might be different altogether, such as a choice of no moral consequence. Those are always the biggest test.

For example, I took the longest time picking between Ashley and Kaiden out of any decision. When given the option of "Be good or be bad," a lot of people will tend to levitate to one or the other, rather than act on their actual feelings.

So the big choice might be one that's more complex.

  • The Australian woman is the blonde from chuck.

  • Small note, Bioware has actually said that it's humanity under attack.

  • Thanks for the note, I'll put an annotation in.

  • good vid though

  • sorry i dont drink tea.....
