Probably just wanted to get on the ground quickly. No real problem with the plane, just declare a manufactured emergency, and land first. The other planes (with the 'little people' aboard) will have to wait for the 'chosen one' to land. Rules, etiquette, procedures, that's for the little people, not for (almost) black presidential candidates.
