Thank you for this. I've always cut my carrots as circular discs and today wanted triangular (pyramid-like) or rectangle-shaped pieces. I don't know why some commenters think you're saying that the trimmed-off parts have to be thrown away. They can still be used/added/eaten.

you can eep the bits you cut off for a carrot and coriander soup or compost them and use to grow you own vegtables
