You aren't going to find much information on it. It's a private collection where it's hidden in a Vermont valley.

Does someone start up a generator turbine on the locomotive near the end?

Yes. That is the steam generator for the headlights. It's louder then it should be, but that was caused by improperly balanced bearings. That has since been fixed.
