@minefield1000 Im almost completely sure its viv stanshall. ;) even tho they DID know mike at the time, so I cant be sure... but since I never thought of it until I read your comment Id still go with viv.
Fucking timeless!! why doesn't anyone do this kind of stuff today? Or do they?? Everyone today is so far up their own fucking arse, anyone care to point me in the right direction?
I'd really suggest Billy Nayer Show. Obviously they're not the same...a bit darker...but some of the strangest, most unique pleasant music/stories you'll find.
Try "Bunny King" or "Dreamland Massacre" or listening to the entire "Ketchup and Mustard Man" album, arranging the songs however you damn please.
@troughsnout Well a few may come close. Only chance is local bands maybe. A couple on the Isle of Wight are clearly doing something at least in part influenced by the Bonzos. "Shanklin Freak Show" and "Revenge of the Lawn"
Yes I agree entirely - I was just reading Ginger Geezer and so here I am. Anyway I used to do quite a few "comedy" songs but no-one listened to them much and they're harder to make than ordinary songs. So now my humour is more subtle, in some cases to the point of people (Mainly Americans) not understanding what the humour is. Play my vids when you have nothing better to do and see if you can tell what I'm getting at you silly goose....

I LOVE this one! I saw the Bonzos live in Manchester on their 40th anniversary reunion tour and it was so awesome when they did Mr Apollo, I nearly died laughing :D They rock. They rock hard.
Always brilliant - the Bonzo's were the best laugh I ever had. Stanshall-Innes magic.

What I love about this is it's funny, but it's also a good song in it's own right.

Does anyone have a live version of this song?
ricadia 5 months ago in playlist YouTube Mix for The Bonzo Dog Band
Actually, listening again, I think it's him on lead backing and chorus, there are at least 3 voices there and Neil Innes is one of them, but...

Oh so so good. Anyone think that the backing falsetto at 3:44 might be Apollo C. Vermouth himself?

Apollo C. Vermouth.

I might be mistaken, but the voice yelling at 0:52 sounds a little like MICHAEL PALIN.

You'll have to stick with the Bonzos Mate
It will be quite some time before they're equaled
ASK Paul Mc Cartney, if you don't believe me
