  • you need to be more clear... i had to redo it all over again... >_<

  • wait wait wait so i fold the what under the what again???

  • anyone else hear the epic recorder playing in the background?

  • Comment removed

  • Dollar bills are good for tips?? lol. Greedy american. If you come to my restaurant and only tip that you better not come back again!

  • shitty design. by far.

  • This is easier than the other ways I've seen it done, but the results aren't as good.

  • Ummm wuz that a scrabble bord n do u do this 4 a living???

  • ok that whitlse shit in the backround is anoying as fuck

  • Too bad Australian money are made out of plastic...

  • man i only have a twenty

  • the recorder distracted me XD

  • Nice, and the music in the background is awesomesause. Great video, Subscribing.

  • I must have ADD... I was sort of doing it until the recorder started and my attention was on the music... Makes my sleeves look CraZy O_o

Nice video though, appreciate it very much!

  • if you tipped me with just a dollar id hit you.

  • haha recorder distracted me.

  • this was a nice video, thnx!

  • very nice music. japanese rhapsody.

  • Lmao is there someone playing a recorder in the background???

  • good but it would be better if you zoomed in on the dollar bill

  • thanks...it's a nice vid!

  • cool i liked the vid!

  • nice and neat

  • just a small note... if you leave this for a tip... don't be cheap and leave just this a tip should be 15% at the lowest, and increase if you have amazing service. just to let everyone know.

  • f that, you should be thankful that they gave you anything at all.

Tipping is not required, do you tip the people at Mcky D's, didn't think so.

  • Hey idiot people at mc d's make min. wage. Servers at a restaurant make about 1/2 of min. wage because the goverment says they make tips therefor they don't need to get paid min. wage. So if your not tipping according to time spent at a table/ amount of times they were more then helpful/ 15% or more of the bill then you shouldn't eat out stay home cook for yourself and serve yourself then clean up after yourself.

  • ohh cry me a river, If you work for 1/2 of minimum wage than you are an idiot, and you do not deserve to be tipped, a lot of waiters/waitresses don't even put in the effort anymore, they just know they will be tipped, that's BS!

  • lol, they make 1/2 of minimum wage, you crack me up

  • National wage average in America for servers is $2.13/hour, or 28% (roughly 1/4th) of minimum wage.

Servers are also taxed on somewhere around 8-10% of their total sales (I believe that varies from state to state.)

IE. If you buy $100 worth of food, that server is being taxed on a minimum of $8, even if you stiffed them. A server normally doesn't get a paycheck, that $2.13 an hour goes to taxes, meaning their checks are void.

    A server's paycheck normally reads $0.00.

  • @MavenImpulse You can't legally pay your employees less than minimum wage. I have a strange feeling that you haven't a clue what your talking about.

  • Actually, MavenImpulse is correct. I suggest you check your facts.

  • longerino your argueing with people that worked in food service or actualy checked into these things. You need to do some research cuz if your frequanting places and stiffing on the tip your probably getting more then just the food you ordered when it gets to your table.

  • pedo

  • will this work for a 5 dollar bill?

  • Zunedog31 : will this work on a 5 dollar bill?

    EPIC FAIL.

  • who says "epic fail"? what are you in the 6 th grade

  • lol Of course it will, all bills are the same shape and size, you silly :-)

  • yes

  • How in Gods name do you complete the last step. I can't fold it up right, it does not tuck under anything

  • i dont get it either?!

  • U think u can update the video cuz the website shows a shirt and tie but u only show how to make a shirt I personely like the tie n shirt better

  • I'm confused, what website shows something with a tie? This YouTube video only shows me folding this one item which is just a shirt - it doesn't show any other shapes ...?

  • @lisasheaorigami squidoo has a thing on origami shirts for dollar bills, and when you click it, it links back to this video. the thumbnail on the site shows the shirt with a tie you can wiggle around

  • wow it took me ages but I eventually got it! I think this method is the best on You Tube, but just a little too fast. Thank You!!

  • lol

  • yay! a go board!

  • haha uhh recorder?

  • i saw this thing in how to make a dollar into a guitar but i cant understand it can someone help me i have the diagram

  • around 00:54 is when i JUST Noticed the flutes

  • ahahahahaha same with me

  • i cant do the collar, whats with the fiddle in back?

  • mine looks like a cat XD

  • mines look like a fish

  • cool a GO board!

  • Thanks for doing such a great job explaining and demonstrating this. It's the best & easiest I've seen. (I love the flutophone/recorder in the background. You must have an older elementary student in the family.)

  • everytime you make a fold or something please move your hands so we could see how you did it but in other words well discribed

  • Thanks, some of the other videos weren't really descriptive enough, but you were, thanks a lot

  • who is playong in the background at 1:40? tell him or her that they are good and was like perfect note playing

  • y is it a dollar bill

  • cause if you rip it normally people dont complain about it. Hes in america. you can easy do the exact same thing with basicly any note

  • I cant explain, but her voice got something....hmm something....you cant explain, you can liste to hear 24/7^^

  • cool !

    very nice !

  • give that a nice esshrtsa

  • the person playing the sakura song on the recorder is kinda making me laugh xD

  • did some body teach u that u are so good doing it

  • i hear a recorder

  • Really saulaxluverx, I did it once, and it really looked good for the first time. I think lisa takes her time to show you how to make the rose. she explains it thoroughly to you as well. I always wanted to know how to make it. A former co-worker used to make gift baskets and sell different products with money. Mostly the rose money. go to a craft store and get the wiring and the rose like stems. Do it a few times, and you will get it. It is so cool!

  • coolio

  • Really cute, I might try that ^.^  Though the recorder music in the background was driving me a little loopy >.>;

  • haha yea man..

  • No, I am someone who goes to restaurants. Do you really never leave tips when you eat out?

  • Thank you so much for your demonstration of the origami rose. I think your demonstration is the best one that I have seen so far. Thank you again Ms. shea. Oh by the way, I myself always leave a tip, unless the service is bad. so far, never had a unpleasant waiter or waitress. (smile)

  • um i dont understand how to do that last step? the one where you fold the bottom and tuck it under the sollar. it doesnt really work for me

  • HELLA SICK!!! N

  • Shirt is great, the recorder playing needs some work! haha

  • lmfao good call

  • do u know how to make the shirt with tie

  • I think that one is a copyrighted design, I will check into it.

  • ty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow i never did it this way theres another way to do this but this one is so much easier!!

  • I love the recorder blowing in the background... I think that's a recorder right? :D

  • Yes indeed, it's a recorder! It's playing the traditional Sakura Sakura. I did this video before I got my hands on some professional copyright-free soundtracks. The current videos I do have real soundtracks on them.

  • @lisasheaorigami ha i remeber when i was in fifth grade and had to play that. we had to play that song too.

  • haha in the beginning your pinkie looks like it is deformed!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahahaha

  • ummmm yes he he he? I have fingers that bend!

  • its hard

  • This is not a beginner shape, so start out with the cup to get the hang of basic origami creation. Once you get the hang of the basic folds this will seem much more easy :)

  • Very nice it is nice to have good quality videos of this not joe bob filming it with his 20 dollar camera. Nice video and i actualy got it first try. I gave it to some lady as a tip and she just laughed. lol

  • I am so glad it worked for you!! Waitresses LOVE this as their tip, it adds a smile to their day!

  • i just got it woohoo!!!!!!!

  • very confusing??? srry it is

  • OMG!NEVERMIND THAT!i looked at the video closer and figured out the fold, srry and thankyou very much

  • I'm glad you figured it out! Many of these take a few tries to get the hang of, that's how origami works :)

  • rly helpful

  • this is really easy how you should us thank you, can you make a ninja star?

  • I don't know of a copyright free version of a ninja star instruction, but I will take a look! I'm glad you enjoyed this :) It's definitely a great tip to give to waiters!

  • i love the way it shows it really helpfull for pppl who don know how to do it i rate i 10+

  • hey thats sakura, sakura in the background i have to play that at school

  • yup exactly! It's a cool song :)

  • i like this video because you actually talk and give instructions!!!

  • I'm glad the videos are helpful! Different people learn in different ways - some are visually oriented, some like to listen. So this way it tries to help out the widest range of people.

  • you sound sweet

  • i dont get the colar part

  • You fold the two corners of the bill / paper - the side near the letters in LISASHEA - in to the center line. So it's a straightforward fold. A 45 degree angle would be too sharp, so you make it a little less than 45 degrees, so it looks like an actual shirt collar.

  • nice flute for the music

  • theres one with the shirt and it has a tie do you know that one if soo plzz post it

  • I'm sorry, that appears to be a copyrighted image someone created, so I would need their permission before showing it.

  • Man origami is awesome I like your creations. Thanks for making this video!

  • I'm glad you found it helpful! I should be adding more in soon. My table got covered with junk and I have to clear it all out and set up the lights again.

  • :)~ this reminded me of the first day I made waffles :)~

  • That recorder music in the background is still ringing in my head. o-x

ANYWAYS, Thanks Lisa! Your videos have been very helpful for me. :]

  • u nicked dat from de uva guy or did e nick it from u

  • I don't know what you mean, uva guy? All the designs I post are copyright free, traditional designs that have been around for years ... some have been around for centuries ...

  • no i meen dere iz anuva guy dat did dat but ok sorry a just only saw it 1 time b4 n hu iz dat playing da flute or summat lyk dat behind lol

  • Nice, I just did jumping frogs for my nephews birthday with 5€ bills before i found this. Ah well, next time ;)

Btw, you should try to light the work area from above so people can see whats beyond your hands, because you create a rather largish shadow with lights from the window =)

  • Yes it took me a number of videos before I figured out how to get the lighting right :) I'll be redoing some of these shortly, especially the dark ones.

  • Friendly and thorough your tutorial may be but my shirt still looks like a pile of crap... :/

  • You'll always get better with practice! Try doing it a few more times. Each time it will start to make more sense, and the shirt will look better and better.

  • Thanks Lisa. I may just be in a bad mood tonight or i'm finding all of the bad videos. Cause you know, i never knew what sleeves were before, i thought they were the bottom part....

  • Sleeves on a shirt are the things you stick your arms through :) So they are the two things that stick out on either side of the collar. The are definitely not at the bottom of a shirt. That is the waist, or hem.

  • i tried this on a diff website and it took me 3 hours..this would of helped me..

  • I'm so glad you found it helpful! I love this design, it's easy and fun :)

  • For the pants I just cheat and use a second bill which I fold in the length to make it a quarter of the original width then put it through the shirt and fold it on the back of the shirt so it sticks out underneath it.

You can't do this if you don't use something to keep the pants from folding back, but if you stick the origami on a (birthday)card it works perfect.

I'd love to see some way to keep the pants in place with only folding.

  • thank you very much this is a much easyer aproach to the shirt. And GREAT VIDEO!

  • woops ima go see ur website thingy =D

  • cool 0o0

    ima go see

  • I still haven't figured out a pants option, but I'm working on it. I'm glad you guys are enjoying it! I love the shirt, it's a great one to make for tips.

  • if you make pants you will have to make oagami face yo poke out of the shirt that would be challenging andb interesting

  • You could just make the origami helmet and stick it on top, and say that it was a big helmet covering the head :)

  • like a football helmet or boxing

or a motorbike helmet should be easy for an oragaim master like you =)

  • Well there's already a kabuto instruction in my set, that is a samurai helmet :)

  • that is very cool

  • do u know how 2 make the pants?

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I can look into a pair of pants pattern. I can fold a traditional Japanese set of pants out of a square origami piece, but I'm not sure about western style pants out of a dollar bill :)

  • thank you thank you thank you thank you so much for this

  • it would be cool if u could make pants for the shirts too

  • Thank you very much! I tried a variety of angles and this really seemed to work best. It's hard to know whether to show it from the "folder's point of view" or from a "watcher's point of view". This way makes you watch it backwards, but I do think it's easier to see the fingers.

  • I liked your view. I got it by the end of the vid. but the collor took little while to get

  • Excellent way easier than the way the others put it! Great way to explain and nice cam angles.
