Well, I'm 100% agree with number 1 ... Sherlock Holmes is my favorite fictional character of all time (that of Conan Doyle's books, not the new film) and Jeremy Brett is a great actor.

Thx all for the comments. The order of the of the list isnt all about the best at solving misteries or crimes but also the most entartaining (for instance i think we all know that Culombo is better than Inspector Clouseu and that Adrien Monk should be in the top 5 maybe), i did this also to include some crime solving characters that were new and from other tipes of show´s and even video games. But i guess i´m very serios in the last 3. Thanks

I am not thoroughly well-versed in all of them, but I know Columbo, Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, and Sherlock Holmes paid attention to the tiniest of details.
