  • 00;09 - 00;13... Epic

  • Muse is a theatrical band. They're music tells an epic story, and it was made to be performed as well as listened to. They are the ultimate band.

  • when bands go live they usely suck but muse is better then ever!! they realy go for it!!

  • The best band in live ever...

  • That's right Matt! Turn that shit up, make me FEEL it!!!! LOL

  • It's Big Day In!!

  • Matthew James Bellamy, you great big motherfucking rockstar.

  • 2:20-2:24 is so dope.

  • It makes me wonder how they practice together. I wonder if they get together and just say "well hey after this song, I will always play this riff and maybe more", and then they will just practice that way, or if, they all are able to recognize when matt begins the riff and they all just know it by heart and are so fluid they don't have to think about it... A perfect trio... My god, as a band member, this is something I would die for... for a group who understands each others cues.... Amazing O.o

  • @Sol0tone Check some vids from this tour and you will realize that they do it after every Stockholm syndrome, and the jam has still the same length and start. I guess all these jams are prepared but they just change it from one tour to another, or just simply play at the end (beggining) of another song in the setlist. And of course, they swap some songs in setlists too.

  • Nowadays they play House of rising sun, Back in Black, Heartbreaker and Helsinky jam and Maggie´s farm riff. And there is some jam before Map of the problematique, which was originally (on Black holes and revelation tour 2007) and the end of the song. And they play Kaoss jam at the start of Supermassive black hole and Interlude at the start of Hysteria. I have watched some Resistance tour vids and this is how they do it, but it is still fucking amazing, it makes me nuts :-)

  • @Bitrklaa Oh of this I am well aware. I am just curious of how well they perform together and if they are able to read each other as Matt for example is about to play something and just know that is what it is. I am more than certain they can very well do this being the performers that they are. I was just musing. No pun intended :P

  • Matty's shuffle at 0:10 fuckin' epic! xD

  • This band is part of the reason why rock music still exists.

  • Who the hell is Muse? My friend asked 4 months ago, I showed him this, guess who loves Muse nowadays? :)

  • I love the energy this song gives off!!

  • 0:10, matt walk, bellamy shuffle =)

  • Now Matt, what have i told you about smashing up the equipment? Thats right, FUCKING GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dom's on fire!!

  • CHUCK NORRIS, GOD AND MATT BELLAMY....:)

  • someones know if they have a live album?? (not dvd) bcuz i prefer the live version's sounds so fucking awesome!

  • @angelivan88 HAARP, epic live album (from Wembley) ;)

  • @angelivan88 Yep, they have HAARP (live from Wembley Stadium) and Hullabaloo soundtrack (live from Le Zenith)

  • @angelivan88

  • I love this video so much.

  • rock!!!

    muse the best ><

  • Muse and Mansons Guitar Shop, the best of Devonshire........XX

  • I wish Muse still wrote good music... Stockholm Syndrome beats anything that they've released subsequently.

  • One of their best gigs ever, even thou it's rather short :P With CE you're never bored :)

  • matt's epic shuffling across the stage during the main riff is awesome.

  • I love muse the best band ever !!!!!!

  • that crowd just dont deserve to be there! arrrgghhh!!!

  • fuck this sounds good

  • More simply --- Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed. This is the song's theme, as reflected in lyrics such as, "This is the last time I'll forget you/I wish I could."

  • In psychology, Stockholm syndrome is a term used to describe a paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express adulation and have positive feelings towards their captors that appear irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims

  • wow

people further back in the comments are comparing Muse and blink 182

its like comparing lord of the rings to twilight

    i mean cmon, really?

  • @MrMiracleJ It's more like comparing candy bars to dog shit

  • @MrMiracleJ nice

  • @MrMiracleJ yeah like dog food and a gourmet feast, also the dog food is regurgitated.

  • @MrMiracleJ if anyone ever tries to compare the two again i will find where they live and kick em in the nuts! muse... way better!!

  • Killer!!!! Amazing! thanks for sharing.

  • Oh yeah! Matt Bellamy is fucking awesome on guitar and piano.

  • It's a Capital city of Sweden

  • @OpaTheDrummer Well done Einstein!!

  • @OpaTheDrummer @JudgeMEDont

look up Stockholm Syndrome on Wikipedia. It's a psychological condition first discovered in the peculiar behavior of some hostages in hostage scenarios.

In the case of this song, It's an analogy for a man who can't seem to let a woman go no matter how awful she treats them and how little she deserves them. happens all the time. it's in the lyrics. ie. "this is the last time i'll forget you, i wish i could...." etc.

  • IM ON FIRE!!!!! eh? stockholm is a name of a place rite?

ppl living there has gotta b proud now ^^

  • this rocks. but i think blink's version rocks 2!

  • They're not even versions of each other... They just happen to have the same title.

  • holy fuck THEYRE ON FIRE!!! LOL AT THE TOPPLING OF AMPLIFIER

  • I think its the best muse song

  • what guitar is he playing?

  • @mylesusa a Manson M1D1 custom made just for him :(

  • @Kh501pr it's not a M1D1, it's a Manson Delorean ;-)

  • hmm wtf? It doesn't means Muse are related to Blink 182 when they both same name of a song

  • i just think that blink 182 copied off of Muse b/c Muse has better songs and is a better band than any other band in the world....in my opinion....

  • I don't think so. Muse's version actually has something to do with the syndrome itself, Blink's version to me has no meaning.

  • Gods.

  • Stockholm Syndrome is the first song of Muse i heard, and i still fucking love it it is an amazing masterpiece

  • Dom at 2:42 hahahahaha

  • lol

  • Muse is AWESOME...... <3

  • he is so energetic in a good way

  • This is the first song I heard from Muse. I love it!!

  • lol I totally love this! They really rock out hard! :D

  • 5:16 love it!

  • Matt Bellamy doesn't "fail". His "fails" are still epic wins by human standards.

  • @eternalrealmW3 Then you don't no anything about Muse, because they've done it a couple of times.

  • does any one know if he uses his fuzz factory distortion for this casue its the tits

  • i think he does...well evrytime i play this song i use my fuzz factory and it sounds awsome

  • well i just wet my pants

  • The Resistance is awesome, like every album of them - But awesome in another way! You need time to understand the album and the song.. I liked most of the songs only after I heard it more often. Like Map of the Problematique, once I didn't like it and now it's my favourite song....

It's one of the albums that grows on you... First you think it's nothing special and then, you don't know why you didn't love it.

  • @TheRobot13 i agree with you. i also think the new album appeals even more to a political audience than the earlier ones (not that they weren't political, just this one is even more so). the song the resistance is just amazing.

when i first heard black holes and revelation, i didn't like the album, now i think it's amazing. just like the new album which is growing on me.

  • but isn't "the resistance" a love song?

based on 1984, granted, but it's still a love song

  • I love at 1:24 how the do the little fill before the chorus, but Matt goes off on his own, bending strings and being crazy, then at 1:29 you see Dom looking across and smiling, as if to say, "he's showing off again!"

Most of the time I bet Dom and Chris are like, "oh, for fuck's sake Matt, just play the song properly!" but 99 times out of 100, Matt gets it spot on, and that's just one of the reasons Muse are the best live stage act in the world today (and have been for almost a decade) ^_^

  • agreed on all u said but thats not a fill at 1:24 its part of the song. matt just goes apeshit on his strings lol. MUSE!

  • does anyone know where to find the version of this at v 2004? he was wearin a white shirt and black tie, that ones amazing

  • theie new cd is amazing..i dont know how you people can say that it sucks........its just something new and its awesome

  • this is drug

  • Strong, powerful-striking and outstanding demonstration of conducting energy through a song!

  • @michiemouse2 yeah that is very true! i love them both for different reasons lol.

  • SUPER trio!

  • i like that "oh!" at the end lol

  • its 'hello!' :)

  • lol what an idiotic thing to say an artist is better based on number of records sold...

has Blink ever done a decent live show..no, please check out hullabloo and Haarp tour, then try and say blink are better with their simple riffs and poppy punk

  • Muse > Blink

ppl are bias, just don't listen to them. in the end, it will prevail.

  • Muse > Blink "Gay" 182

  • what an amazing use of envelope filtering

  • if you meant the guitar it's a phaser, not an anvelope filter, cuz it doesn't respeond according to hisn playing.

  • Talk about giving your all. These guys give that and more. Awesome band.

  • Blink who? Muse is the best live band by far.

  • i like both bands but muse are just all around better musicians

  • blink 182 is a twat music for bunch of emo shite ass crap...

  • B 182 is for stupid high schooler and adult who are mentally retard.

  • sorry but stockholm syndrome by blink 182 is sucks

this is 200% better or more if the people wants

  • Comment removed

  • Not the blink182 comments again1? F'kin cock rock.

  • Whats up with all the retard comments.

This is not a blink song.

Blink suck, album's sold means nothing, because then you can say that someone like Brittany Spears is better than Blink on that basis. IMO

Green Day are in no way similar to Muse, completely different music.

This song is my absolute favorite song in the world, best performance :D

  • blink sucks

  • LMAO sorry this comment was so ignorant i couldnt help but laugh.

  • blink 182 is overrated. "LMAO"

  • wtf? im sure muse have sold so much more than blink lol get your facts right!

  • britney spears sold more than blink

  • tokio hotel sold a lot of cd's too..... do they make good music?

    i don't think so....

  • see thats your opinion. personally im not a fan of them either but their sales say differently

  • just saying that only because b182 has sold more cds doesn't mean they make any decent music

  • now that YOUR opinion and your entitled to that. however im sure 25+ million people would disagree. im not saying your wrong im just saying whats true.

  • it's not only a Blink 182 song

  • Comment removed

  • im sorry but it's got to be said, for such a small man, Matt has got quite a nice bum =]

  • by greatness do you mean fame? as muse have already surpassed greenday in talent, and they are completely different in everyway- besides having 3 members...

  • omg 4:36 .. every single time I listen to it, it gives me shivers down my spine o.O

  • matt matt matt. always the lead singer...

If u didn't notice, dominic Howard (the drummer) is wearing a shirt... but i guess who cares? no one... he's just the avoidable drummer yeah?

  • lol...

  • grammar son

  • lol why is matt wearing a long sleever. it would be atleast 40 degrees out there.

  • You do not question Matt's clothes, only admire

  • Matt is absolutely gorgeous

  • Anyone know how Matt has the INSANELY amazing ending chorded?

  • ahh i love it when he plays tht awesome riff and at the same he walks sideways!

  • help me!!! I know the text of a sing of Muse but I don't remember the title!!! Can you help me?
