Hate to troll, but in some parts of my country, that would be considered quite generous XD My mum is an OT and goes into houses that are literally one up one down, stairs and a cupboard for a toilet. but japan and u dont know if that happens? why dont u fuck ur self u slut? beein american dosnt make u perfectc, wish u end up in a third world country to undrestand the reall world
Small as it is ,it is still for only two people. My design is using four shipping containers at $2,000 each to build a house for 44 ( forty four) people. How the hell did I do that? I was thinking a cheap house like this would be good fot the people in New Orleans or Haiti where the tents they have been living in since the earthquake two years ago are being evicted by the land owners. Cheap and good housing is what they needed, not the publicity that most small house owners have been seeking !
he didnt have enough money to build a full size house yet he spend $500,000 building that if he had half a million why didnt he just buy a house rather then live in a parking space
haha he barely fits in a parking spot... I wonder if fitting in a smaller home would lead to a healthier lifestyle... extra goods and extra pounds have no room in a tiny house... I gotta lose some myself if I want to live in one of these :D

@Straitpunk The Asians take really good care of their feet. As strange as it is to us that's what they're used to, They have shoes for everything they need like work, school, exercising, home use. They also have guest shoes for company to wear to keep their carpets clean.
The house fits on a 30 m/sq space, that's about 320 sq/ft. Minus the space the walls take up and a couple of unusable areas, they have about 250 - 275 sq/ft per floor to work with.
And don't worry Cenk, for the Americans, they build an optional double wide, LOL.
People don't understand other countries in the world, and assume just because it's different, or they don't like it, then for some reason it's "wrong"? Or it "shouldn't be done". I'm not saying I;m an expert on Japan but there's two IMPORTANT pieces of info you missed.

@LahmariS Tokyo is one one of the most expensive places to live in the entire world. A Jap friend of mine used to say that if you can afford to live in Tokyo you cld afford to live just abt anywhere.
A couple of my friends live on canal boats, which are no bigger than this. They're really nice, I envy them sometimes, but I am rather attached to the 33 years worth of crap I've collected.
lol 30 square meters, Ive lived in an apartment with my bf that was 28 square meters, no big deal. Sure I wouldnt want to live there forever, but its totally doable
This is the Plan the UN & EU has for everyone people. IT is one thing when it is voluntary but if they have their way we pesky humans will all be corralled like this
Strangely enough, I could imagine myself living in a house like that. Alone, preferably, or with a girlfriend, but I could definitely live in a place like that.
Ana, in Japan houses are small and families live together, so yes, the kids don't usually bring the dates home. However there's those love hotels everywhere where you can rent a room for an hour, and they use that a lot.

This is definitely better than living a life where you have 400 pairs of shoes or tons of cloth that you never wear.
It's expensive to built only because it isn't common, things only get cheap to produce when in mass quantity, but it is practical. I don't like small space either... but I already live in my room, don't seem so different. There also nothing wrong with living with your parent, most Asian do.
that last joke hurts... even thou im not japanese, it's hard to bring a date home, since people here are really strange.... anyways japan sucks. as much as this house.. :(
@bmhcj6gg Umm.. you realize they have hotels there SPECIFICALLY for people to go have sex at?
Plus-- one should differentiate between different areas in Japan. This sort of thing might apply to certain parts of Tokyo and Kanagawa (but having lived in Tokyo for a year, I don't really see it). However, the rural areas of Japan are VERY rural.
I lived in my Kombi van for a while and that's quite a lot smaller and I've also lived in Caravans for several years. You really can get used to it and there is a certain appeal to being able to sit up in the morning and switch your tv on, then lean over and make a cup of coffee and cook breakfast.
Even today, though I've got a luxury sports car and have a $300 a week flat close to the city I don't like houses; I don't like the idea of "my domain" encompassing rooms I'm not in.
Hate to troll, but in some parts of my country, that would be considered quite generous XD My mum is an OT and goes into houses that are literally one up one down, stairs and a cupboard for a toilet. Is everything in Japan getting smaller?

I appologize to Japanese viewers. I write this only in jest. You can say bad things about Puerto Ricans if you want. lol

this particular space will be lots of fun when his mom gets arthritis.
You can build a Wee House in the USA that is 345 sq feet. Its a cute little bugger, too.

That makes no sense what so ever.
SPACE is the limited resource in Tokyo, in USA you have excess of it.
Is not more economic to build in that small space as per se, is the lack of need of space in Tokyo that makes it cheap.

Maybe it's cause Japan is running out of room that they're building such tiny homes?? o_o

Why don´t they build homes on the water ? Like mini oil rigs without the oil drilling of course !! There is not much space in Japan ! Build upwards ?
