This video is marvellous, the jewish east end, I was born in Ilford which was a very jewish area and most people had come from the east end. The memories are like so many of the people I grew up in...hard but happy times
I really enjoyed your talks, I'm currently living in the Whitechapel/Stepney area so it's interesting hearing about it from a time gone by. Thanks for sharing.
I was born and raised in Arbour Square off commercial Rd. Emigrated to Canada 1971, now live in Florida. Do you still have the WWII Evacuee site because you did publish a picture of my husband and me in it. Our names are Betty & Denis Herman.
It is so refreshing to see someone from my genre who remembers, in detail, the things that I remember. I was also born and raised in the East End of London in a large Jewish family. I love what you are doing, and look forward to further "walks down memory lane". My husband is the brother of Vic Herman, the Scottish Jewish flyweight champion boxer, who used to play the bagpipes into the ring and wore a large Star of David on his boxing shorts. Betty, Florida
Thank you. I very much enjoyed listening. My mother lived in Dalston and it reminded me so much of hearing her tell of her life.

Glad you liked it Brian. I thought I'd like to tell folks what our lives were like back then, as things are so different now.

A very fine four part documentary of life in the Jewish East End of London in the 1940s. Informative and entertaining with excellent narration.
