Secondly, education in the US isn't the national standard you make it out to be. Most often, it's the choice of the student to dropout, which is under few circumstances acceptable. My point being there are a Huge number of well educated people in the US, and the uneducated have nothing to do with foreign spellings.

No, you don't have to have the shoe. They make small shoe wallets that strap to your laces so you can still use this device and watch. Again, the iPod is not necessary to run with this. And yes, it will calculate your calories based on your weight that you input in the settings.

You don't need the iPod for this to work. It syncs up to your computer/iTunes.
