I noticed that this scene is a set up for the Batwing, Batman figures out that having a personal plane would have likely made this mission go a bit smoother. It's similar to when Batman had Gorden drive the Batmobile in Begins. Batman likely saw that he sometimes might need his car without actually driving it himself, notice that Batman's first scene in TDK features a remote driven Batmobile. Nolan is great at little details like that.
@Curseco Well if you think about it, it can't be just a blackout in a building that has its own power plant or core or whatever like most of the multimillionare buildings and houses, i even know a neighboor that has his own power plant in his house, so it can only mean someone cut the power out
everything was a surprise. the moment the entire building black out, the moment a man in black just crashes in through the ## storey high window..and eventually the moment batman n lau was extracted up into the sky using sky hook.
it applies well with what was thought in the first movie.
@mashukun He said "Let me go! Let me go! I'll have my men kill you! Let go!" when he's been dragged across the floor. Then he said "Don't shoot!" four times when the cops arrived (so they just stare at him stupidly).
@fakescorpion112 - Thank you - appreciate it! I enjoyed the acting by Chin Han was excellent but the other guys - esp. the police commander's (agreed!) stupid looks left much to be desired.
God, Naked Snake would have been proud of that extraction technique. And if you click 2:02 you'll definitely hear 3 very familiar notes from the MGS series.
Hans Zimmer and Harry-Gregson Williams, they're more connected than you'd think.
It's funny how you don't see Bruce putting his black eye makeup on before putting his mask on. Why do Batman film always try to hide the fact that he puts on black eye makeup.
The GCPD cops are amused by the situation at the end. A criminal who managed to escape from their jurisdiction is now back and nicely gift-wrapped for them. I think it would have been cool if it was Batwing that picked up Batman and that dude, instead of an unmarked plane, but more appropriate in Nolan's Batman movie.
Lao was screwed either way. Even if Batman hadn't come to Hong Kong for him, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker would have...wait, I think I'm mixing up my movies here.
@cmi2010 Ra's Al Ghul was a ninja like him and he knew how to fight...The joker definetely knew how to fight, he actually kicked batman's ass at the final scene, so i think batman actually fought with people who knew how to fight
That's why everyone loves Nolan's vision for these Batman movies, cause he doesn't sit back and rely on special effects, like Michael Bay, to create this world.
See, Nolan realizes that even though computer technology has revolutionized the movie industry, it still can't replace good ole fashion set pieces and set designs. Nolan would rather spend that $100 million building stuff than creating it on a computer, and it shows in his movies. Wait until Inception hits.
Something very "Michael Mann" influenced about this film. I watch it and keep thinking about "Heat". The color, music...theft/crime techniques. Good touch!
That's exactly why I prefer Batman Begins. Batman Begins had a more unique film noire-ish style/feel/atmosphere/style, whereas Dark Knight, as you said, just feels like a Michael Mann crime thriller - too much so in my opinion.
@HerculesTAK ya i wish michael mann directed christopher nolan's script, because i think nolan is hugely hugely talented, but think about it man, this script has michael mann written all over it. i am not saying that chris nolan did a bad job, but just saying if michael mann directed nolan's script, oh man we would have the epicness of nolan's brilliant writing, mixed in with the direction from the guy who is a master at this genre. would you agree. although no complaints about nolan tho.
@HerculesTAK That's the same thing I thought after watching this; especially the Joker/Batman interrogation scene it reminded me of Al and Robert at the diner
This is one of my favorite scenes in the film. SO epic. It keeps reminding me of the 1939 comics Batman where he had no rules and kills criminals on a whim.
