"Whoever Allah chooses to misguide.." if Allah loves mankind, why would he ever misguide? Is he evil? Allah is not a person. Its a force.

"That there is no being, deity or God worthy of our worship other than Allah" - I loose my respect for Islam for such a statement. Does God hate one part of mankind and 'misguide' the rest? Are there no great non-Muslims?

The greatest thing to learn is tolerance and love for ALL humankind, not just Muslims. I see religion as the biggest conspiracy theory.

However I am afriad the statement "Allah misguides them who choose to remain blind" can be interpreted in many different ways and some may lead to the wrong idea about Allah. To me, for instance, it gave me a sense of ill feeling since I cannot understand why God would purposely misguide somebody who is ignorant.

..we do not need to dig and dig to try to understand fully the intricacies of how Allah does this, because we accept we will never fully understand everthing about Allah. However, we acknowledge that Allah is the most just and we will be Judged with justice. Allah is the fairest and is fairer. We put our trust in Allah and we beseech him minimum 17 times a day to guide us to the straight path. At the same time we make the effort and "tie the rope of the camel", then leave the rest to Allah.

Allah hu Akbar! Allah hu Akbar! Allah hu Akbar! Last night, just a few short hours ago. I made possibly the first sincere duaa of my life after hearing this lecture. I asked Allah swt to grant me my immigration status that I've been waiting for months and months for, and I asked him with the sincere knowledge that he would grant my wish or something greater. I just looked in the mail, and subhan Allah, I was granted my immigrations status. Allah hu Akbar!

And If I had been particularly bad on a certain day, I often wouldn't make duaa at all because I thought I was too sinful to deserve even the slightest opportunity at Allah swt granting my wish. Jazak Allah Kheir for giving this lecture Yasir Quadhi. Now I am much more comfortable make duaa and much more satisfied with my duaas, and inshallah I will increase my duaas :)

This was truly a great lecture. At first I thought "what more is there to duaa, it's so basic." but now i realize how much i was limiting myself in my duaa. I never asked for worldly things because i thought that would be too superficial and that Allah swt would be angry with me or be ashamed of me because of that. Many times I didn't make duaa with full faith and certainty because of duaas that I thought had gone unanswered in the past.
