  • OMG I was just talking to my husband about doing this but we had no idea how to make it happen! Thank you!!!!

  • how do you do it with a hdmi cable?

  • @PolicyGeneration I have posted a video response below this video for HDMI

  • omg thank you!

  • Thanks, worked a treat. The new Dexters on the tv

  • What is the name of both cables used?

  • @xEmmetx You are welcome!

  • i love how people make these videos and their video is just perfect every time but it dosnt ever work out that easy theres no trouble shooting advice what so ever.....

  • @KcKglock With that thought, the person making the video would have to have access to all types of computers and TV's. Each one is going to work different. If you are using an analog tv, the chances are great that it will not work. Each computer is going to have different display settings. You can usually go to the website for your computer brand, and they will have manuals showing how to access your display settings.

  • I never thought that a woman can explain this! =D

  • @janskulowski Women are good for quite a few things other than standard stereotypes! : P In fact, some women guide the space shuttle back to earth. So not all of us are running around in a gunny-sack, living in a cave, pointing and grunting!

  • @tjw1963 umm do you know how i can connect my laptop(a notebook to be exact) PC.

  • @NinjaBoyFuto You will turn on networking. Each computer is going to be different. I use my wireless router to access computers throughout the house.

  • @tjw1963 my notebook and PC have only 1 enet ports(i use a wired router so i need the network port) was hoping you would know a USB based connection.

  • i did all this but i only have the wallpaper and no icons or windows, help please

  • My laptops virus(so no games on it:S) and my tv monitór for my PC is broken.. but is there a way for me, where i can connect my PC to my Laptop?(and use my laptop for moniter:)?

  • I like the bloopers

  • its vga not an rgb cable

  • @TheHunteredh My TV book called it an RGB cable. In the research I have done, I have seen it called RGB and VGA.

  • is there anyway for me to get the tv screen on to my laptop so that i can use a screencapturing program for example playing a videogame on my tv but the screen is also displayed on my laptop?

  • @YUFUSLAM I have never tried that before. Hopefully if someone knows, they will give you an answer.

  • simple & easy, THANKS!!!

  • @Tjones318 You are welcome!

  • thanks

  • @playstation1331 You are welcome!

  • i dont have graphics option when i right click

  • @9dontray5

Go to the start menu. on the right Go to control pannel. There should be an icon called SiS VGA control centre !

click on there !!! then go to display settings and click clone main monitor (LCD)

    hope this works for you!

  • should i use vga or hdmi (HP G62 laptop - Baier 1586 [LCD])

  • @harrygoozee HDMI will carry sound, vga does not carry sound. It is up to you what you want to use.

  • its so easy even a woman can do it :)

  • thank you!!!!! XD

  • @DmslilAngel103 You are welcome!

  • I lOVE U FOR THAT

PS. YOU CAN ALSO CAN KLICK MONITOR + LAPTOP SO U HAVE 2 MONITORS...

    LOL @ 2:55

  • I lOVE U FOR THAT

  • thank you sooooooooooooooooooo much am going to wach my movis

  • omg is it possible to connect ure pc to an tv with only scar and cable entry

  • @superstijn16 What is a scar?

  • @tjw1963 isnt that tha cable u put in the tv behind ... i thought it called like that

  • Can u say the stuff what i am supposed need to hook up the laptop to computer because i can't really hear you. Thanks for posting!!

  • Comment removed

  • @douglas131000 Why would you say that?

  • @tjw1963 Because he/she has none.

  • hmm nice vid and explained i know what 2 do

  • your dumb

  • Ty. :D Now all I need is a RGB cord! LETS ROCK AND ROLL! I will come back and tell you if it worked for me!!! :D Also, TY TY TY TY TY TYTY TY TY TY!

  • does this still work

  • i dont have graphic properties when i right click waht do i do?!?!

  • I have recently bought a 4 prong s video, my laptop 7 prong connection and my tv has a 4 prong connection. I have done everything exactly as showed in this video yet it still hasnt came up. any suggestions on why this is happening?

  • VGA not RBG

  • @xlgeek My book said RGB, which is a type of connection.

  • @tjw1963 RGB=(red green blue)vga is just a monitor cable

  • @tjw1963 do you need extra cables to hear the computer sounds on the tv?

  • @uchihasauke5 You will need a separate cable to hear the sound through the TV. What we have done is to use a little speaker system which works really well.

  • @xlgeek RBG also same as VGA

  • @xlgeek i wanted to write de exact same thing !!!!

  • when I click: >output to> monitor my laptop screen goes black. my tv is on the correct "PC" input but it say no signal?????

  • @kevPtree1991 Havin the same issue lol.

  • Where can i get the wires from the Hdmi ones

  • my only audio cable has 3 heads, white, red, yellow & when i plug in red & white in their corresponding slots i only get sound from one speaker........is this solvable or do i need to buy the exact cable? p.s both speakers on the monitor are defo' working. thanks

  • why are you knitiing?

  • @WaziPodCast If you visit my main channel, that is what I do here on YouTube.

  • @tjw1963 o ok

  • 1:10

It was very rude of you interrupting yourself like that.

  • @P2GearsOfWar How funny, I never thought of it like that. Thanks for the laugh!

  • smart one :)

  • Great video. It realy helped my out!

  • so does the laptop always have to be hooked up to the tv? is there no way yo do it wirelessly?

  • @trptsrule Yes, you can do it wireless.

  • @tjw1963 what do you need to do it wirelessly?

does something always have to be in your laptop?

or with windows 7 nothing needed now?

  • this was the most helpful video thank you..

  • when i did that the screen on my tv show what my laptop projected but it;s showing so much blue how do i fix that?

  • @SenelLovesChole12 The blue would lead me to believe that your connection is not in full contact. I have had a pink screen at times with a poor connection.

  • Thank you for the advise.

  • @mellowsky47 You are welcome.

  • can u do it the other way round? can u get input from the tv onto your laptop screen (then use pc software to record the material playing on laptop which i already have installed)?

what method do ppl use nowadays to record tv and transfer it electronically onto laptop ready for uploading on the internet?

  • @MissPressPlay You can record anything with a DVR and transfer it to your computer. I have a DVD player that I have used to record from the TV. When it is on the disk, I can play it on the computer. The DVR should be in digital format.

  • @tjw1963 thanks, i'll give it a try x

  • how you do that with a hdmi cable....man i am quiet confused

  • when i do this the sceen isn't in the right place so ive got a blank spot on my tv and the start buttons out of sight, do you know how to fix that?

  • @browslj996 You will need to go in to your display setting and change the setting to something that will fit the screen. You will right click on your desktop and go to graphics properties or graphic properties<display settings. Each computer is going to be different in where you find the settings.

  • lol ! i have the same laptop and the same tv

  • Unfortunately this laptop is in its final days now and left hooked up to the TV until it clonks out. The screw came out of the joint, where the top folds down and it broke. It still works thought as long as we do not move it.

  • Thank you, very much!!! Nice video!!!

  • Do you recommend wireless A/V adapter from pc to tv? Can you do HD wireless from Pc to Tv? If so what is the product to buy?

  • hey were can i get the cables from i live in birmingham and does any1 no were i could get it from pleeeaaaaassseeeee iv got my name is khan and 1 day on my laptop and wanna watch it on my tv sooo pleaassseeee

  • what does this have to do with crocheing

  • this sucks! i have an old 72" big screen TV and i dont have that cord attachment piece!

  • @blender3dmaster WOW, man.

72" is a fucking building, hahaha!

Must be awesome, did you get the cable already?

    Lucky you :-)

  • @menoziinrevoltado yeah its huge! its not a flat screen though cause its an older tv i meant i dont have the slot for that piece. so now i use SVideo.

  • @blender3dmaster 72" ??? Jesus Christ..!

  • varies with TV's, mine i choose the "PC" input.

  • So, I'm not getting sound from TV, I Have a Sony Bravia, I don't have the audio headphone output on TV, Just have the Red, wHITE Output.. What Can I use to Get Sound from TV? Thanks

  • nice video sexy voice

  • I managed to connect my father's laptop to his new 62 inch TV (not sure of the exact dimensions, but its BIG!!)

First thing I did was to load up my commodore emulator!! Blew my mind playing old 8-bit games on a massive HD screen!!!

Sadly I can't do the same with my own laptop and TV

  • @CheapBeer09 yes you can try the s video out put on your laptop that you have the option of having two monitors at the same time, usually tvs have a s video input.

  • oddly enough neither my laptop nor my tv have s-video ports!! (both aren't even that old!!)

My laptop has a VGA port, and I have 2 scart converters with s-video sockets that I MIGHT be able to connect with a VGA-S Video cable (which I am on the lookout for)

  • @CheapBeer09 yes you will be able to connect your laptop to your conveter box, so you will need a -vga to s video- cable you can fing it on line for 50 to 80.how ever when you use a s video cable the resolution its not as good as if you were using vga out pus and inputs, i hope this helps

  • where do u get that wire from? and do u need a wireless mouse?

  • @TheLiamdalama radio shack or any electronic store

  • okay if you want it so you can use it as a dual monitor then read:

Okay first hook it up, but instead of right clicking and going on graphics options youll need to go to CONTROL PANEL and then for VISTA go on PERSONALISE and then DISPLAY SETTINGS (or the XP equivelant)

Then wo monitors should come up, just right click on two and the two CHECK BOXES underneath should become available, check the box that says EXTEND THE DESKTOP ONTO THIS MONITOR and then hit APPLY and your done!

  • I right clicked and it doesn't have Graphics Options? What do I do?

  • There are going to be settings specific for your computer. You can also look under "graphics properties" or something similar. Each computer is going to be different in how the settings are displayed. The connection needs to be hooked up properly for the settings to become available. Not all analog TV's will connect.

  • lool thx

  • Thanks I figured out to put my monitor to my laptop

  • You are welcome.

  • Thank you! Thats what i was looking for!

  • You are welcome.

  • what if i have a hd tv and on my laptop i dont have a hdmi outlet to it.. could i just use a regular usb cord

  • I suggest that you give it a try and see if it works.

  • Somone please helo!!!!!!!, i have a computer but it only has the adapter to just have one monitor going so i cant plus in that other cable, 2 i do not have a s-video port on it either, 3 my tv dose not a have a s video port or a rgb or watever it called thing either somone please help im tired of 15 inch monitors...

  • Unfortunately this type of connection will not work with all analogue TV's. Some people are able to establish a connection with analogue and many will not be successful.

  • where did u get the rgb cable from

  • It is just a monitor cable. You can get them from Radio Shack.

  • w8 i connected my cable to the tv n my laptop n when i right clicked my desktop it doesnt say graphic options

  • My TV doesn't have a RGB input, but it does have HDMI so I got a cable that connects the computer's DVI out to the TV's HDMI, works great but there's no sound tho, so I had to hook up some extra speakers and an amp next to the TV. I can now watch YouTube in bed!

  • You will get sound through your HDMI but you need to change the sound over upon connection of HDMI, in your sound properties. Don't forget about HULU. There is a lot of good TV there too.

  • Thats cool IF you tv has an rgb/vga connector. Mine does not. Only has a Scart connector

  • hey thanks

  • You are welcome.

  • Thank you so much :)

  • I did these and now have a 32" monitor but the screen image on my laptop is smaller than what it should be. Any help in restoring my laptop settings in appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • This looks great! I tried exactly what you did and I got an error that said "Not Support!" I tried to go back to that graphics menu for more options but my monitor on my computer is now blank with the RGB cable in it. I can get my laptop monitor back with the RGB out but I can't get the output 2 option anymore. How can I get back to where I started. I'm stuck. Please help! Thanks!

  • thx alot abt everything

  • Where is the graphics option???

  • where is grafic options?

  • It may show up differently when you are using a different computer. It shows up for me when I right click on the desktop.

  • right click on your desktop, go to properties (XP) then the settings tab, personalise (vista) then display settings, and screen resolution (windows 7) i think tht only DELL's have the output to on the right click menu, dont hol dme to tht tho

  • When I plug it in and turn it on.......it works for only a few seconds and then it say no signal. Help please

  • Right, i have a big problem. I had it working. but then i clicked a setting (i think i clicked Panel Fit>Mantain Aspect Ratio) and then the output option wasnt there on graphics options anymore. Can anyone help me?

  • What has happened? Has your desktop gone beyond your screen? You can unplug your connection so you can see what you are doing on the laptop again.

  • Comment removed

  • DW now, i just got it working. some of the video settings dont work with the PC, so i had to blindly change the settings :P

  • Looks like you got it figured out. I have found that unplugging the VGA from the TV will send the signal back to the coputer so you are not blindly adjusting settings. I have had many different things happen, even when I have left the settings alone, the computer changes them on its own with each connection. It has given me the center of the desktop (zoomed) with all icons outside the viewing area. When that happens, it is easier to unplug and send signal back to computer.

  • Yeah, when i unplugged it it sent the signal back to my computer screen, but since my laptop isn't all like super good, some of the resolution/detail settings didnt work with my HDTV.

  • If you ever get a computer with Blu-Ray, it gets worse. There are some settings that Blu-Ray does not like so when you put the disc in you lose the video with the player when you are using the TV. I have found that changing to 32 bit will help.

  • Lol thanks for the worry. xD

  • i love u baby,,,that helped me alot,,,i would like to have a smart baby with u hahaha,,,thanks

  • hi, I'm thinking of getting a REALLY LONG WIDE SCREEN TV so I can use it to watch TV or surf the net with displaying 3 windows side by side. Does a wide screen TV have enough space to display 3 windows side by side? or is it just having bigger pixels than a pc monitor?

If using a desktop machine with TV as monitor, does the sound transfer to the TV? or you have to buy speakers?

    thank you very much

  • The TV will display the resolution the same way as a monitor. You will also be able to adjust your display on the TV. When you change your resolution settings on the computer, everything gets smaller.

The only way that sound transfers is if you use HDMI. You will still need to change the sound setting. Sound will not transfer through S Video or the Monitor cable.

  • if you you pull out an rgb cable from your pc then plug it into your laptop then tv will the pc loose data?

  • If you plug your PC to your laptop, the TV will not be connected any longer.

  • is there no possible way to hook the sound up to the tv without that cable.. like can the sound run through the hdmi cable ??

  • Sound will run through HDMI. You will change the sound to HDMI in your sound properties after the HDMI is connected. HDMI options do not appear if the cable is not connected.

  • does this work with a regular TV

  • It will work with some. The analog TV I have won't work but that does not mean your TV won't work. You should give it a try.

  • i need help...i just bought a big screen tv....and it only has an HDMI2 port and an HDMI1 port...but no VGA port....but my laptop only has a VGA port...is there a VGA to HDMI cord? please help...

  • Sometimes the connections on the TV can be hidden in the nooks and crannies on the back of the TV. I would think there would be VGA. I do not know if they have a cable like that. I looked a couple weeks ago on a Google search and did not find anything.

  • no....i searched every singal inch of this tv...ugh...im sooo frustrated!@ my T.V also has a DVI port in it....but my laptop dosnt....maybe theres a VGA to DVI cord?

  • I just did a Google search and found DVI to VGA on a site called Datapro. There was a lot more places than that. Just make sure the connector at both ends will fit your computer before purchasing. You could also try Best Buy if you have one locally or a Radio Shack.

  • i meant....S-Video....im sorry. =/ well thank you for helping me =] im ganna go searching for this cable around Radio Shack and Staples.... hopefully i'll find something.

  • You saved my life.

    For this, I thank you.

    x

  • You are welcome. :)

  • very helpfull thanks :D

  • I need help ASAP.

I have no VGA port in my TV.

I have no HDMI port in my computer.

I need a cable that simply plugs VGA into my computer, and HDMI into my TV. Please help.

  • S-Video and VGA on your computer will work if you have those connections on your TV. If it is running to an analog TV, it will be hit and miss on the connection working at all.

  • lol 62 inch

  • I bought my VGA cable from online shopping ebay germany-its working ok, but i wanna not drag the images from laptop to TV i wish it works as dual monitors and icons to work both n tv and laptop-if i have this method, therefore there no need dragging the images from laptop to HD TV-my question wa if it works like that-thanx

  • In your resolution settings you can change from dual monitors or same image on both.

  • uhm where could you buy the plug at?

  • THANX ALOT MADAM; my problem is that i can,t get the laptop Icons at the same times as dual-views, in lapto and tV, if i brows the net or wtching any youtube links, i wish to see the net browsing both and the tv and in laptop- but i can only one, any info abt it-thank u again

  • You still should have the option of setting dual monitors. Mine is under my NVIDA control panel. I can change to dual monitors under there.

  • i can,t see my laptops icons in my HD TV -otherwise i have to drag the video from right to the left, until i can see it n my tv

  • You will need to change the display settings or resolution on your computer to a smaller setting so you can see everything.

  • when i click right, i dont have the option of output

  • Your computer is not recognizing the connection to the TV. It will show up when you have a connection.

  • My desktop icons dont show up just the background image ive tried all the different resolutions what now?

  • I have had this happen many times. Changing the resolution took care of the problem. I am not sure what to tell you if you have tried all of your resolution settings. Did you click on the apply button each time you changed resolution?

  • how do you connect a desktop computer to the TV and still have it display on the monitor.... so the same computer outputting to both the computer monitor and the tv at the same time?

  • You can hook it up the same way. I know on my Dell NVIDIA control panel, I have a place under my settings to choose between single and dual monitor. I only have the option of one monitor since that is all I have hooked up. Plugging in another monitor will give me more options.

  • yeah i've seen someone do that before but my computer only has one monitor plug...any other ways i could do that?

  • You could replace your existing video card for a dual VGA video card.

  • actually my friend told me that all i need was an S-Video cable ;P thanks anyways though!! this movie was a great help

  • Excellent video my HDTV has a PC input on it, and i could hook up my computer to my tv.

  • excuse me but is there a version of a usb vga cable?

  • Go to Google and see if it is an option. I don't know every end connection that may be available.

  • hi i was wondering where can i find the output tab on my computer? when i right click i go to graphics options but it only has panel fit and control icon on it and i cant find the output tab to send to my monitor

  • I have found that when the computer is recognizing that the TV has been connected, you will then see that option available. When it is disconnected, the option goes away.

  • i have vista home premium and a panasonic television, i attempt to physically plug in the VGA cord into the laptop as well as the television, but it doesn't work. i was told to go to 'personalise' and then click on 'connect to a projector or other external display' but even when I set that up it doesn't not work.

  • If you are using an HD TV you will need to change the input setting so you are on the same number as your VGA connection. If it is analog, you would change it to the channel where you use the DVD or VCR. Not all analog TV's will work.

  • can you hook up the laptop to the surround sound, without hooking up the video part?

  • Yes you can.

  • when i connect my laptop to my tv it does not play the music on tv the sound still comes from my laptop... why?? helpp!!!
