I would say it's because he feels it dilutes the value of his recordings. (Why go buy it when you can hear it for free, right?) Also, he probably knows that youtube's videos are downloadable using certain programs. But I don't know. Maybe it was a deal gone sour like you said, because there are other sites that have his music.
