My cousin played me this track in the car yesterday. We pulled it up at least FOUR times!! No joke! Of course I remember this in jungle which probably wasn't the first time I heard it, but damn it brings back some good memories of that era...
Yet again proof that UK music has always been doing good things!
@danoba6 Fair comment but It's not always just about the industry, it's about finding good, decent people to work with, black or white, if you can't then sometimes you prefer to just walk away with your integrity in tact
Have indeed heard it in a couple of jungle tunes, but where did they get the clean vocal from?? Does one of the other versions have a clean section of vocal as I can't find clips of any other versions on the net...
Leviticus got his sister to re-sing it on his version, but there is another jungle tune "Lewi & Chopper - Make Love To Me" which does use a clean acapella - but this was probably from someone in the studio as it's never been released. Def nothing to do with good equing.
Seen! Just listened to it again and I didn't previously realise that it had been resung, it's now so obvious. Because everything else had been sampled I'd assumed that was the vocal of Jill.
Big up to Jumping Jack Frost for a classic track.
Memories... i remember this was the first tune played at my housewarmin' party back in the day. This was the days when we had good uk artist after Loose End, Soul II Soul an them we then had Omar, Ms Francis above, Wayne Marshall, Irini, i could go on... where is the UK Soul scence today? :0(
IDK...It's such a shame what we had here in the UK was very unique. I think it was due to many of the artists not getting the recognition they deserve and giving up or going abroad. Thats why i was shocked when i heard Floetry were British, they had to go to the US. I didnt know there was a UK Black music scene these days i stopped listening to UK stuff long time. Thank god for 80's, Rare groove and Revival!!
love dat song

Hundreds of UK artists are talented but there is no support behind them. So we have a few one hit wonders like this tune.
Its a British industry. All the managers know each other and protect their investments.
They don't want black people taking over.

Got this track on 12".
The Leviticus jungle track called "Burial" did not use a clean section as you call it, it's just down to good equing.
There is no accapella version.

What has happened to UK black music in general? Utter shit these days. I used to rinse this one alongside '24/7 Love' by Irini.
