I was in 3rd LAV's ATs when we deployed to Okinawa. We made Marine Corps history by being the first LAV Bn to be deployed overseas. Camp Schwab Okinaw under Major Knapp. We deployed to the PI. Man that was a great time! Our LAV-AT 521851 was a great pig. The Gen I emerson turrets leaked hydraulic fluid as fast as we can put it in. Knothing is better than lining up a target with the thermal sight and hittin the go button and watching a TOW fly downrange! I wonder if LAVAT 521851 is still alive?
