I love this kid. I watched the program of “the little rascals” on TV, when I was a child, here in Brazil. I love this recal, and too all the little rascals. He is still remembered after so many years.
These shows were pure comedic genius and it just baffles me why they are constantly hidden away. In the 1970`s they use to play them constantly on TV, but today all you get is a few DVD`s of a couple shows when they are 100`s just sitting around. I assume it`s because in todays politically correct nazi enviornment started by liberals, the forces that be see them as racist, but they really weren`t. They made fun of blacks no more than they made fun of fat people, nothing vicious.
It ticks me off when I hear people call this show racist which is why you don`t see it anymore.. It wasn`t in the least, quite the opposite.. They regularly had shows that showed white and black kids in the same classroom in school, 30 years before desegregation and always portrayed blacks as equals to the white kids, always eating and drinking in the same place
@JamesTKirkCobain well not exactly right. there's an episode when the gang was to eat all of mickie's dinner so they wouldn't have left overs and when somebody asked where's buckwheat a kid said his daddy has fried chicken and he wouldn't be here. another episode stymie was making wishes and said i wish i had a watermellon. i wish ihad 2 watermellons. i wish my daddy was out of jail.
yes and on that very same episode stymie's little brother was named "COTTON" and spankey was wishing that COTTON was turned into a Monkey. But when i watched this show as a child, i never noticed. this is and will always be my favorite gang!
@tamapalagi -Yeah but that was more poking fun at the stereotype than flat out racism. Probably the worse was they had one called the Kid from Borneo where they had a black dude dressed up acting like a retarded savage, but it was never vicious, it was done all in comedy. All the evil people potrayed in the show were always white like the guy who wants to get the grandmas bonds and she ties them to a kite.
This video made me revisit all the old episodes I loved so much when I was small. Spanky was always my favourite character and what an actor that child was, no-one can compare. Thank you for this video, it made me smile xxx

It ticks me off when I hear people call this show racist which is why you don`t see it anymore.. It wasn`t in the least, quite the opposite.. They regularly had shows that showed white and black kids in the same classroom in school, 30 years before desegregation and always portrayed blacks as equals to the white kids, always eating and drinking in the same place

@JamesTKirkCobain well not exactly right. there's an episode when the gang was to eat all of mickie's dinner so they wouldn't have left overs and when somebody asked where's buckwheat a kid said his daddy has fried chicken and he wouldn't be here. another episode stymie was making wishes and said i wish i had a watermellon. i wish ihad 2 watermellons. i wish my daddy was out of jail.

yes and on that very same episode stymie's little brother was named "COTTON" and spankey was wishing that COTTON was turned into a Monkey. But when i watched this show as a child, i never noticed. this is and will always be my favorite gang!

@tamapalagi -Yeah but that was more poking fun at the stereotype than flat out racism. Probably the worse was they had one called the Kid from Borneo where they had a black dude dressed up acting like a retarded savage, but it was never vicious, it was done all in comedy. All the evil people potrayed in the show were always white like the guy who wants to get the grandmas bonds and she ties them to a kite.

I love Spanky, I love them all! this was true talent, these kids were spectacular! too bad kids today don't even have a clue on how to laugh the way these kids made our grandparents, parents and us laugh. Wish they would play these shows again to give our children the real fun and innocence of being a child!. Love you little Rascals!!
