Trey's Chuck Norris look here is because of the border crossing out of Vancouver BC. All through the first week of the Fall '95 tour, he was all shaggy hair and beard right up to the 10/6 Vancouver Orpheum show but the tour bus got shaken down by the border cops (listen to 10/7 Makisupa Policeman). The next night in Spokane10/7 he came out clean shaven and hair cut up short. Looked like Eric Clapton onstage. 10/6 & 10/7 are killer shows sadly unknown by many east coast phans.

I have heard them play this song since the spring '94 tour when it was new. They started raging it right away, but this one from Hershey is my favorite - never again equalled in ferocity. Plenty of great ones since, but I prefer the jam with the chord progression like this instead of the single-chord modal jam.

Wow...now this is bringing back memories. Senior year in college and did a 8 show run up and thru finals week. Hershey kicked it off, than Cleveleland State, than Buffalo, and then I missed Albany -- oh how I could kick myself. Anyhow, this DWD could be one of the top 3. Trey was ON! As he and the band were for 94 and all of 95. Thanks for the post. This show was one of my favorites of the 60.

Man I was in your same position. I was my only phish fan out here in san diego. I brought 2 of my friends to festival 8 and IT CHANGED THEIR LIFE!!! They went purely for the experience to interact with all the people, and now, phish is their new favorite band. this will change your friends life if they have any appreciation for music at all. all I can say is have fun man, you & your friends are in for a mind blowing experience.
