The schecter is a great guitar as long as you dont try to modify the electronics as the low quality wood brings out strange harmonics abiout half the time you modify the pickups. We went through 4 bodies on my bands guitars before we found one that sounded alright. But give it to schecter all the bodies were free of charge from them as they felt we should get the quality we paid for. Great customer service.

Active Pups and Ibanez Guitars are very very overrated. Everyone wants Active Pups because Zakk Wylde has them or they are best for metal, Seymours are way better for metal. Ibanez Guitars are poorly built with agathis or basswood bodies and cardboard thin necks, and plus, everyone has them.

Just putting EMG 81 PUP's in the Ibanez is the best solution along with an 18 volt battery mod and killer is born that destroys omen 7 string. But shecter's are finished way cheaper! The freakin logo is a sticker on the head stock that can be pealed off for crying out loud and their pups are way to close the neck for my taste. But it's not really a bad gutiar all in all. I've been a loyal Ibanez just like most metal players who have been around for a while.

Really? Ibanez? Ibanez necks are way too thin and there stock pickups are terrible. The only ones that are even decent are the Emg's or the Emg copy's. Put Emg's in an Ibanez and put them in a Schecter and the Schecter will dominate in tone...unless you like that loose weak tone. [In my opinion tho.] Understand your loyalty as well...im as loyal to Schecter guitars. All a matter of Opinion man.

disagree.. most ibanez guitars (or at least the rg series) come with infinity pickups and they are pretty freakin sweet.. i think emgs are overrated and so are active pick ups in general.. most of dimarzio's passive pickups could wipe emgs of the map.. none of the guitar legends besides zakk wylde ever used active pickups

ibanez agreeably has the best stock pickups out of many guitar brands, you don't have to go for a thin wizard neck. the omen 7 extreme is a very sick guitar though. and dude EMGs sound the same no matter where you put them. it'd sound the same in my shoe ffs.

Umm dude..you're wrong....EMG's do not sound the same no matter what guitar you put them in...because the different woods make the pickups sound differently. I have played Gibson Les pauls and Ibanez guitars that EMG's sound terribe in...yet ive never played a bad Schecter with EMG's. The only exception is the crappy 81-89 TW's. Yes...Ibanez stock pickups SUCK...they are horrible...the only ones that sound DECENT are EMG's or the Knock off EMG's

no sir, the whole point of EMGs is that it uses the on board circuitry/pre amp. the sound is sterile it's not like other pickups.

ibanez stock pickups are agreeably the best stock pickups, i don't know how you're disagreeing.

as for knock off pickups, cheap pickups aren't great and great pickups arent cheap. if you ever think a knockoff pickup sounds good it shows how tuned your ears are to sound.
