  • Big Thanks larkinam!!

  • Hi all, I bought an erhu last year but I am un able to find a dvd or vcd on how to play. Just wondering if there is any body out there who might know where I can get one English sub will be ok . Thanks

  • I emailed our resident Erhu expert your question, still waiting for a response. He may contact you directly. His youtube name is DBB90.

  • really nice!

  • whats the diff between this and the huqin?

what other similar instruments are there?

  • Huqin is both a specific member of and a generic term for the family of bowed Chinese lutes. The erhu is the best known, along with the jinghu, the gaohu, zhonghu, etc. I was told they were developed from Central Asian instruments like the morin khur.

The most unique feature is the bow between the 2 strings, no fingerboard, and the sound of the tight python skin - except for ones with a wooden soundboard like the banhu and the yehu.

  • This is the instrument used to create the beautiful music on the science fiction program, "Earth: Final Conflict".

  • Our basic model erhu, ideal for beginners. Note the bow goes between the strings, no fingerboard, and the important tone filter behind the bridge.
