LWT VT Clock / Slate (Wembley Studios) Manhunt 1 1970

I've got one of these clocks from ATV on a 16mm episode of The Foundation from 1978. The picture fades when it gets to 3 seconds remaining then the ident starts just as you have here. I believe that Manhunt was a video taped series as was The Foundation from ATV but for some reason this episode I have is on 16mm film.

@airscrew1 What you've got will be a film copy made for overseas sales. Therefore, although the original was made on VT, it will have been transferred to film for those networks that couldn't play PAL tapes, e.g. the US who use NTSC.

@BrisbaneBoy86 Ah that's interesting. I first thought it was just so that it could be projected at ATV just for the makers to see the finished production. But you have enlightened me on this.

I'm very interested in these VT clocks, but I can't seem to understand how they function. Can you give me some information on this, please?
