@Tompelicious Have you actually listened to Scott D. Davis' music? The man is incredible. Obviously you haven't, otherwise you wouldn't be saying that. The man is amazing, and his album Tahoma, is simply unbelieveable. It's his own songs, and they are perfect. The power and emotion he puts into his songs is just....god. I don't even have the words. I'd like to see you play half as good as he does, I highly doubt you could.

I agree that you should listen to Richter, Horowitz and Kissin, but I don't think it's a good idea comparing modern music with classical music which is lot more demanding on the piano. You don't need to be the best pianist in the world like the three pianists mentioned above to be able to express feelings and play well a simple melody. Don't forget that simple things can be beautiful too.
