  • well that vid showed a lot he might as well cast a dry fly with the rod. and as for put a 4oz lead on it ive put a 4oz lead on my 13ft rocketeers spod and yes that does go very far. interesting to hear you nead a speacil rod to stop the spomb wobbling in flight though.

  • We had many requests asking if we could make a Spomb™ rod and thought it would be best to leave any rod design, development and manufacturing to Free Spirit Fishing (FSF), who we feel are an outstanding fishing tackle company with some of the best UK consultants on board. The Spomb trade mark and logo are officially licensed to FSF for use on fishing rods by Spomb Limited. Everyone at Spomb is looking forward to using these new rods and, for now, we continue Spombing with our FSF Hi-S's.

  • Will we be seeing this rod by Brentwood?

  • @osprey1197 Yes - should be ready for Brentwood 28/29th Jan 2012.

    Regards, FSF

  • I was half expecting that 4oz lead to go around the world and smack him in the back of the head! :)

  • I new some stupid marketing man would come up with a 'spomb rod'.

  • @MrQuaxex123 Hi there - Free Spirit were the first company to make dedicated Marker Rods and many people thought that they were a farce at the time, but look at how many anglers use them and companies make them now. The aerodynamics of a spomb and a lead are very different and subtle changes in the rods design and action has proven to make quite a lot of difference. Regards, FSF
