For my gold dubloon; Is it Pete Wingfield? If it is, please send it to Billy Gibbons. (not the one from ZZTop though, he's probably got loads of 'em, I'm the one from the UK, I need gold dubloons)
Timeless classic (tune) and done well by a now elder of RnR. Still love the old vesions from the rock primeval era with the Rock and Roll Trio (recording used session musicians, Grady Martin's fuzz tone guitar) or older one by Joe Turner?
Mick Green tribute concert at The 100 Club, on Sat 27 Nov. Special Guests include The Animals and Wilko Johnson Band. Tickets now on sale. Check out mickgreen.co.uk for more details
Forget about all the other wankers - Mick Green is the man ! Pioneered simultaneous lead + rhythm guitar ! Who was Wilko's hero ? Well, it wasn't Hendrix !
. The reason for my post above, is Mick Green. I had not heard of him before I saw him on the TAMI show (he was a very new member of the Dakotas at that point) the other day, and he was the highlight of the British acts. Subtle, precise and gutsy with the chords. How many UK guitar geniuses had the last name Green?? Wow. I'm sorry as I learn of his ability and involved in the arts, and I find he has passed away? Very sorry. Rest in Freedom.
I was watching the new DVD issue of the DEC 1964 USA tv program music special, "the T.a.m.i show" I see Brian Epstein put Billy J.Kramer, Dakotas, and Gerry with his pacemakers, through the paces on the show. Is there any reason why he didn't package the Beatles with this? They could have dropped Leslie Gore and Jan n' Dean for more space for even Little Richards, Buck Owens with the Beatles. Anyways..pt 2 next post sorry ran out of space.
Sadly the legeng that is Mick Green passed away in January. He will be sorely missed but clips like this will hopefully inspire the next generation. Pleasure to have known you Mick!
Mick Green - how the hell did this UK guitar giant drift off the radar when the likes of tabloid useful Eric bloody Clapton stayed up there? Shameful. Theres something seriously wrong with popular 'taste' in this country. Too many undiscerning sheep.
What a line up, mcartney, paice, gilmour, wingfield and a good friend of mine the legend that is Mick Green and that natural telecaster of his! Wonderous!!

Lonesome Dave AND Rod Price blew this s*#t off the map. This isn't even close. Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac did it better than that.
