  • My 15 yrs old best friend Syd has stroke. I'm 17 yrs old girl with Hemiplegia Cerebral Palsy

  • what does 'semi-professional footbal player" mean?

  • Typically right hemisphere injury with no real insight or cennection with reality - no way a guy like him 5 yrs after the stroke will be fully recovered within another 6-12 months...

  • He might not be completely recovered, but it is possible. At the least, he could recover significantly enough to lead a typical life. My son had a stroke that left him unable to use his left hand and walk. With the help of Botox and a few other unconventional treatments, he can now do anything with his left hand (even to catch a baseball), and can run typically. He's not 100%, but nobody can tell that he had a stroke.

  • This is very good info. I have a new stroke patient who's caregivers are using my product "Lift-A-Life" for transferring him from bed to wheelchair. Strokes are hard to recover from - depending on the severity.

  • Yes. I was told I wouldn't walk again. Now I'm Inline Skating and Long Boarding again! However I still can't type with my right hand or write well with it, so I've been forced to become left hande, which feels awkward! 8 months at the hospital, and 8 years to get to this point!

  • THANKS:)))

  • All I can say as a survivor is...take with a HUGE grain of salt what the doctors predict. Only YOU know what you're capable of..not them !!

(If it was up to them, I'd still be in a wheelchair..for the rest of my life !) NOT!

  • My mom recently had a stroke but fortunately she's just fine now.

  • My brother has a stoke at 33! Was very scary - he's much better now. Amazing how many lives strokes affect.

  • Thanks for posting...very interesting.

  • Hope ya get well soon bro. Thats some sad stuff

  • very good everyone should know this

  • My great grandma survived a stroke and is now "spastic"

    It sucks.

  • get well soon! Feel sorry for youuh x

  • Strokes are dreadful things, My father had two before he died.

  • Well, I certainly hope science keeps progressing at this pace, even faster. As a younger person myself, I never really think about things like strokes and other ailments that generally come with older age. Who know what we all have in store for us in the future, I support science 100% and consider it a leading nesessity that we should all make as our foundation of life, instead of relying on false hopes with religion.

    sin

  • Not everyone recovers from a stroke. It has Been 7yrs for my Gramps and still paralized on right side.

We Love him lots we would not be here if it wasn't for him... So we All help.

  • I know just how stroke`s can affect people, my work mate had one about 7 years ago, been from a very healthy man one day and then been in a wheel chair for the rest of his life the next was very hard to take in, he lost his speech but got it back sometime later, Thanks Jase
