    Greetings from Berlin (Germany)

    Lars

  • amazing crane of corse! but how are those trucks running around????

  • @0081kc

beneath the road deck there is a metal guide wire, in the container of the trucks there is motor, on the front axle is a magnet that allows the truck to follow the guide wire.

  • the music makes the whole thing look like some sort of ballet!

  • @campainr

Ballet music yes, but it also hides the loud noise the motors make.

  • in england this costs £385 from eHattons

  • were did you get it from and how much for also were did you get the maersk containers from

  • I want one so bad!

  • It May not be cost effictive but i think it would benifit me in the long run if i had one of these

  • how much do they cost?

  • last time I checked thery were somewhere between $500-$600.

  • it looks like the real thing in the dark with the lights

  • Well I think this is a 'must have' item.

  • i think the price might put you off though

  • Does anyone know how the trucks in the background are running around the container terminal

  • Take a look at the 'Faller car system'.

  • Is it worth the money to buy one of these?

  • If you're into docks and container freight movement then this is great - and worth the cost. It's big so you need plenty of space to get the most out of it.

  • how much are they in australia at the moment?, do you know, because i want to get back into my model train club and at the next meeting i would like to recomend them getting this crane

  • where can you get this??????

  • It looks very good I see Dyserth Road has one or two installed. They look really good on the videos from there as well. Bearing in mind at about 4:45 I think Health & Safety might have something to say about the speed of the lorries espcially going under a 40ft container at that speed!!! :)

  • Mental! Love it!

  • can it carry 40ft containers or is it 20ft.

  • can it be used as a british dock side crain

  • Why not. You may have to modify the writing on the crane...

Perhaps you can paint it and weather it a bit.

  • yeh it was just a query i plan but im not sure of building a large layout after i have built first layout if it is a sucess

  • could u use this on 00 scale or does it have to be H0 scale??

  • OO and HO use the same railway track so it is much the same. It could be used. It may not be at exact Ho scale anyway.

  • cheers

  • the lights are the best

  • Thanks for uploading this! The music is interesting, kinda sounds like disneyland music.

  • this stuff is great!

they say it's easy to control with up to 3 cranes which is usefull, if you forget that these cranes cost around €550,00 a piece.

so having just one of them is allready quite something :P

  • I've been a longshoreman for 3 years and I've never seen a transtainer with a spreader that rotates before. Seems like it wouldn't be very practical at a real terminal since it could knock down the 3 high stack of cans very easy if the operator was careless or if the spreader stopped too fast causing it to swing into the empty pile.

  • We have morris cranes at work on the rail termanal and they rotate like this, and they must be over 15 years old now so it's no new design.

  • Amazing!!!

  • how did you get it to pick up the 40 footers

  • It's a trick. It's not really grabbing the containers like the prototype. It uses electro magnets, so you can only pick up containers with weights in them. Still it is a pretty cool model and it's cool that it is DCC. I would want one except on my layout we use the other kind with the rubber wheels like our prototype, Santa Fe uses.

  • this is some serious hobby gear, would surely fill in some rainy days..if only real life was so precise.

  • Hi hoarp001 try to goole for

'faller road system' lovely stuff in HO/OO and N

  • ohhhh its just like RMG's thats cute... and almsot as funt to watch as teh real things

  • how the f*%£ do those trucks work?!

  • faller car system.

there is i metal wire under the road.

in the truck is a magnet and an engine and tada they drive
