  • I was researching my family tree and discovered Wild Bill Cody was my Great Uncle! This is awesome!

  • This was filmed at the Indiana County (Pennsylvania) Fair on Friday, August 24, 1956. The "Kiddie Kapers" stage that appears right after George Reeves' scenes was referenced in a newspaper article in the Indiana Evening Gazette.

  • This is amazing footage. Where and when was it filmed? "Wild Bill" was actually Frank Peniman. His wife, Mamie Alice, was shot and killed accidentally in Pittsburgh on June 7, 1959 when an 8-year-old bystander fired one of the rifles, his parents not realizing it wasn't a prop. George Reeves, of course, died nine days later, also of a gunshot wound.
