Those who want to call these guys lazy should keep in mind they are not 25 yerars old anymore, Mr. Baker is probably 65 at this show. They are playing like seasoned veterans with the interpretation as they feel it today. What's wrong with that? Jack is still playing Amazing bass, and EC and Ginger are...well....they are they, aren't they? Was that too many 'theys?' Pax from FL, USA
I always thought this was a great song, in a spooky and desolate way, This version sounds so much more "ripe" and certainly more "east London" then before. Thanks Eric for the intro - I never knew Ginger's full name was Peter Edward. By the way, I heard that shortly after this show he got some sort of muscular disease, disabling him to play drums any longer. Hope this ain't true!
that bass line or at the instrumental part toward the end is the melody to ' my bonnie boy" by vaughan williams. could some one tell me if this correct or not.
Apart from that..... I'm totally impressed with Gingers vocal timing!.It's SO spot on with an almost Sinatra feel. Sombody commented that their sound at this concert were "lazy". Thats so wrong. It's "laid back" which isn't that bad i many cases, nor in this ;-)
this is the best song they played at the reunion, probably because it's a amazing song, an amazing performance and the fact that they never played it live before...
No, but I have seen Ginger Baker perform with Hellborg playing amazing african jazz, yet I dislike the Cream reunion, sure it's an amazing thing to see these guys perform together again, but each member has gotten lazier over the years playing with rhythm guitarists, extra percussionists and such and when Clapton's goes into his solos it feels like there's something missing. It was innovativity that made Cream amazing in the 60s and there's not enough innovativity at this reunion..
I read somewhere that this was the first time they did this song live. One of the more remarkable, unexpected and joyful parts of the reunion. Sort of moving, too.
One of my favourite Cream tracks, although they all are really - but great to see this at the concert. The quality of the upload is superb and although I have the dvd of the concert, this seems much better quality!!
Many thanks for this and your other Cream uploads!

A personal favorite. I love the fact that they included it on the reunion shows. Jack Bruce's bass playing on the coda is top notch

Does Ginger Baker "sing" this on the original as well? It does mostly sound like Jack Bruce, but would be awesome and surprising if it were Baker!
Awesome version this one anyhoo!

Felix Pappalardi. El tocó la trompeta en ese tema. De igual modo, tremendo Baker. ¡Un verdadero héroe!
