You have overloaded the inputs on your PC and that's what's caused the glitches. YT compression is a "mushy" sound. I route my signal to my MiniDisk recorder and adjust the output there to way below 0dB, usually about -9dB. Or, you can adjust the signal coming in if you use Audacity's Input volume slider thing. Make it much lower - about -9dB again. When you've finished, do Select All and Normalise, to bring the loudest point of the song to 0dB - the loudest it can be before overload.
@MarkPMus thanks for the tips, but I just use the video straight out from the camera, no editing at all. Most of my videos sound fine on YT, even if a little brighter and less low end, but still reasonable. These glitches are something I had not experienced before :(
@NuVinyl The glitch is definitely input overload. Try doing the video as normal, importing it into a video editor and deleting the audio. Then sync it to an audio file made in Audacity, as described above. From a purely selfish point of view, I'd love to hear how much better the P9 sounds to the P5, and recording this way would enable some direct comparisons to be made! PS Coltrane/Hartman sound fabulous!
I'd give my right nut for a P9
