When I first heard this song I was a freshman in college in the state of Oklahoma 1980.. I am from DC where country music is Corny.. I must say, I loved listening to KEBC, (Keep Every Body Country) in Oklahoma City. That was the only radio station I could clearly hear in Langston, Oklahoma. LOL
I RAN A TRUCKING COMPANY IN MUSKOGEE OKLAHOMA CALLED TRUCKS FOR YOU, FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. TRUCK DRIVERS ARE SOME OF THE BEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. NOT YOUR DAMN THIEVES IN WASHINGTON AND N.Y. CHICAGO. PARTICULARLY. THE PARASITES ARE NESTING IN AMERICA, ABOUT TO DESTROY HER AND THEN LITE ONTO CHINA. THEY ARE WEAPONLESS, THEY ARE JUST A DRONE SOCIETY. OUR GOAL MUST TO BE AS KIND TO THE USURPERS AS THEY ARE US. LET'S PAY THEM BACK WITH INTEREST! OUR CONGRESS LETS THE HIVE ROB US BLIND.
@sssssjjjj1 im not sure if i really understood everything you said, but what I really agreed is that truck drivers could be the nicest people on earth
Love this song. Listened to this a million times as a kid, but just a couple weeks ago, while learning to play guitar, I realized that the E chord sure sounds like the beginning of this song. So I You Tubed this song and was right! Hes strumming that E chord at the beginning of the song. Funny how old stuff comes back to ya.
My mother is a truck driver and everytime i hear this song i think of her and how every year she visits us once. Not even on the major holidays. I miss you mom (:
no need to fuss over spelling! One thing sure it he was the Man of the eighties..The man who loved to pack a fair ground stadium and bring the music to the people. Eddie was truly one of the greatest of the great big name entertainers. All we have left his his music which will continue to live on. I get chocked up to think the man is gone.
fReckon this is for all of us who cant keep still in life - nothing more alluring than a road you've never travelled before...............
