  • Young Pride was a lovely old horse. Came to Brian from Teddy Demmler in Victoria. Didn't have a sprint, per se, just got to the front and ran for his life. Went 1:57.5 on the old Maitland track, unheard of at the time, a track record. I had a lot of horses with Brian. Pity Young Pride wasn't one of them.

  • Driven by brother Dick Hancock. Brian drove his favourite old horse Bundanoon. Pulled the wrong rein that night, did Brian.
