  • We don't think so honey.

  • All those unions are helping sink United Air Lines!

  • Did the jumpseater know that the non rev was in the lav? Are jumpseaters in charge of flights now?

  • Good Stuff! Ya damn right I'm voting for SECURITY!

  • how can we get people to want to vote for afa when we have people being nasty to those that are just stating there own views thats not right i trust noone weather it the company or a union they all want one thing thats money if u ask me but it time that the new delta fa vote!!!

  • TITANSQUEEN - obviously you have drank the koolaid to believe you can survive without a contract! Guaranteed A-days! WOW - so much more you can accomplish with a contract with the New Delta/Old Northwest Management! Don't be foolish !

  • I think Im going to like a contract knowing I will be able to plan my life for more than a week at a time. I have tried it our way but I have had enough of Delta deception. This is not the company I signed up to work for those many years ago. Not protecting myself, would be foolhardy .

Thanks Again for the Great Video I don't care who you are.

  • Some of us may look at the snake being the AFA (UNION)

  • WOW!! Can't believe you can STILL believe what they say after ALL the lies; how sad...

Believe it or not you can be an excellent employee WITH a contract...

  • Regardless if we have a contract there will always be a gray area in which we can get screwed. There is not a company on earth where everyone is always happy and get what they want.

  • Having a union does not always translate into fighting. It is up to management to set the tone and the organizational culture. There are many corporations that enjoy a cooperative relationship between management and employee groups/ unions. SouthWest and Alaska come to mind. And these corporations have awarded their employees with far better benefits than Delta, while still making profits for investors

  • You are right about that and I would hope that would be our position should we get a union. They just seem to be the minority--that truly works harmoniously (given airline and union history) .

    I hope you are right.

  • momo0270...why is it "up to management to set the tone and organizational culture"?

By the way...Pat Friend is quoted last week in the AJC that a union would change the culture at Delta.

  • Well I think "attitude" speaks louder than words! Most Delta F/A's have been happy campers for all these years (me 31). I haven't met many Union F/A's (including the NWA ones) that have enjoyed the same adjective---Happy????? I hate "fighting" and that seems to be the union way, sometimes you can work things out without all the tension---some seen to like- "unhappy at work" frame of mind. I hope when I go I will still be proud of My Delta. There is always MORE to a story than you'll ever share.

  • Are you for real, Jess?? you go don that little pretty southern apron and fetch your husband his slipper!! LOL!! ..AFA all the way, baby!!!

  • Cont.)

Wanting a legal, binding contract is such a "bad" thing at the new Delta.... that is what our executives desperately want all of us to believe. When is the anti-union crowd going to wake up and finally "get it"?

Do you really want to spend your entire career at the feet of DAL management? It is always better to work with management on the direction of our future than to have it dictated to us.

Don't say we didn't warn you - if the vote fails - and the roof caves in on all of us!

  • Something tells me many of you will be changing your "tune" once you experience the value of a contract - a say in your future (pay, work rules, and benefits) through direct negotiations WITH management, LEGAL protection via due process (something you do not have at this time - no matter what DAL management tries to tell you), a defined process for furloughs, recall, and base closures, SCOPE language that provides protection against outsourcing, etc.

  • Malcontented group? I suppose that means that union people are just slam-full of content! The UAW comes to mind. Hey all you pro-AFA-ers, Chrysler and GM are hiring. Top wages. And you don't have to work. What a job!

  • It's so funny how so many people from anti union Delta folks defend being the "lowest cost" flight attendants of the majors!!!! Non Union SLAVES!!!!

That NW management is going to love running that crowd!

  • Oh yeah, the Union is one big Savior, NOT!!! Every airline has been envious of the fact that Delta stews and management have worked together famously for years. We are a family and the threat of a union has gotten us more than any real union ever could. We have done just fine riding the coattails of our pilots instead of paying for an outdated institution that protects people who should be fired anyway. I will quit the day Delta stews become a union. It is evil and my heart is w/ the widget!

  • Hey Jess.......I'm a DAL FA also.............if the majority of the combined carrier votes AFA 'in', then I hope you live up to your end of the bargain by leaving DAL ASAP!!

  • I married a pilot who doesn't want me working in the first place. I fly for the love of Delta & for the excitement it brings.. My mom found out she was going to have me in DL training! Again, I am proud of the great history, the Southern hospitality/charm reputation, and for the way we've generally been treated by our management. The day it becomes Union, I am gone...with many fond memories and my integrity intact. So no worries....MY WORD IS GOLD.(The red widget is probably a sign).

  • Are you serious? How long have you been flying? First of all, do you remember what happened after the last union vote? No more authorized leave, no more 5 weeks of vacation (which I missed by days!) no more delay pay, no more night pay, no more intl. pay, and then "blended pay". If you are banking on you husband taking care of you and he is a pilot...honey, you are in for a real ride.

  • 1deltastew,

The last union vote took place last year. AFA lost. The previous union vote took place in the beginning of 2002. Changes were made late fall of 2002 in response to the devastation the industry was experiencing after 9/11. The entire industry took deep cuts. Since then, most of the work rule changes have been restored or enhanced (ADay guarantee for one) and we have received 3 pay raises, a bonus, profit sharing, monthly payout rewards and unrestricted stock awards.

  • Very cute and very misleading. So the non-rev in question did not occupy the lavatory for takeoff???

  • very comical and entertaining. so the jumpseater wasn't in the lav for take off? he didn't retire early versus being fired?

  • the jumpseater was NOT in the Lav, but a non-rev was. That is the reason the jumpseater got fired, to no fault of his own. He wasn't even working, just going home, jumpseating. Good ad libs in the video. I like the imagination behind the caps.

  • Unless you were there, never trust that you have all the facts...there is always more in any story...good or bad...

  • duly noted!! But hear it from the source and you'll the get the facts.

  • Retire EARLY? He was eligible LONG AGO. Furthermore, when you already have things in your file, you're going to get fired when caught in a bad situation like this one. Being a witness to something WRONG makes you guilty by association. If you witness a crime, you shouldn't ignore it...isn't that common sense? Now, where's the crew?
