I agree with eflint1, as this aircraft was most likely an a nuclear powered, experimental aircraft. Nuclear aircraft have been secretly worked on since the fifties (The Orion Project, NB-36H, TU119 to name a few).

Why would troop transport choppers be chasing this thing instead of attack helicopters? To me, this proves the government was in control. Had it been a craft piloted by aliens, cobras would have been chasing it as well as f-4's and "Delta Darts" from the USAF.
