  • I wish I'd known about Doug when he came to Finland. I'm finnish.. we don't get guys of his caliber often come by here.

  • He wants to be hated, I like that.

  • what's the name of the book ? :D

  • rip hitchens

  • Doug wasn't an intelligent or smart man. What's great about him is that he's a normal man with some good principles. That's all.

  • "All that the comedian has to show for his years of work and aggravation is the echo of forgotten laughter." - Fred Allen

I love DS, thanks for everything dude.

  • I have never heard Rogan do the "there are no grownups" bit, but I have heard Carolla do it numerous times.

  • it might be a shame that Stanhope is so jaded he refused to have a child for his own personal life but in the big picture is means nothing. kind of like what he says about recycling, his not having a child in the big picture "environmentally" means nothing, personally it may be tragic for him, or not

  • I wish regular people thought about life, social issues and human beings the way Stanhope seems to - it would make for a clearer world I think

  • i'm so glad stanhope realized alex jones is full of shit.

  • @BillKiernan

He always thought he was shitnuts, but Doug is a friend of Alex.

  • Alex Jones: Only half retarded.

  • Someway it is calming to hear the harsh truth from a guy who isn t dreaming the american dream. At least donno other reason why I like this nihilistic dunkard. Nice interview by the way.

  • he's sucking on a spoon at 3:58

  • does anyone know the song at the end? it sounds delightful

  • @samisacool1 - The world being doomed part. Better days behind than to come. Imagine all the 60+'s of the future as homeless people, and you're probably optimistic if that's your worst contemplation.

  • @samisacool1 - Well I've only been around 40 years. And as a kid, a man could go door to door selling vacuums and such, while owning a car and a house, raising a family of four, and having a stay at home wife. And still retire after 20 or so years. Now ----- I should be retired, but am not a day closer than the day I graduated high school. No wife, no kids, no house, and still barely making it. And I'm better off than most people I know. And we're still not at the bottom of this hill.

  • Stanhope = Genius

Anybody know the name of the song at the end?

  • the social order concept he has is right, it is nature, but then isnt that the point of evolution? unfortunatly we devolving:/

  • @IronDrummer123 social order is more like social evolution on top of regular evolution .. If you talk about people devolving I think its more safe to say the information is gathered soo fast that most of the people won't be able to grasp it. Devolving sounds like people before knew more but its just not true. Its just now people try to make conspiracies etc. to exmplain in simple terms very complex things. and that makes them look stupid.

  • It's so nice to hear someone speak logically about Alex Jones. The man isn't a complete dolt, but I have often wondered how people follow him blindly on his every word regarding the governments of the world, when really hes a bit dumb.

  • I'm probably the only Stanhope fan who immediately recognizes that he's wearing an Adrian Wilson jersey. God I feel like such a worthless whitewashed mainstream whore. Thank the fuck christ that Stanhope can help me realize this fact.

  • He is the modern buddha....should create a church for him....hehehehehehe

  • I love this dude .. great interview

  • humble as fuck! I like him so much.

  • @snifxx0

What I like about it is that it's thoughtful nihilism. He has a head on his shoulders and analyzes things, but at the end he sees that it's all bull shit anyway. Nihilism tends to have a negative connotation to it unfortunately, so let's just call it wisdom haha.

  • We non procreation people, Do not want our children to have to endure this world. You idiots and your offspring can have the world. It's not a contest to me.

  • His take on being compared to other comedians is so true.

  • awesome interview!

  • "legality and morality are two entirely different things"-interviewer. STFU and just let doug talk you fuckin retard! legality and morality are completely subjective, have no substance and have NOTHING to do with the prison system. this is NOT where the argument starts. most people in prison did nothing wrong to others but they still go to jail because they are used there as unpaid slave labor.it's modern time slavery which is all about the money and the whole system is tailored for that purpose

  • This man, among many other comics have changed my life and I know it to be for the better. Thank you to Doug and all his comedic allies.

  • good questions and great answers. thanks for uploading.

  • I just love it when Doug says"journalism is LAZY over here".And that is so true.Journalism is dead.Everybody is copying "news".Especially finnish news are just repeating what for example Reuters said yesterday and they consider that news.Just like swedish tabloids being total fucktards handling Assange case.

  • Doug Stanhope was here? Fuck yeah! Finland is now a little bit more awesome in my eyes.

  • The biggest shame of all is Stanhopes non procreation. Its people like Stanhope that should be having kids and filling this world with mini Dougs. When the geniuses dont breed but the morons continue to, its only gonna get worse.

  • @ellk420 You know Joe Rogan's Devolution Of Stupid People bit? It's brilliant.

  • @ellk420 Yes but as Doug states in the interview with Alex Jones when he criticizes him on the exact same thing you just said, only have kids if you wanna keep fighting the masses of retards.

There's no hope for this species. So having kids just means you're giving yourself an 18 year long hangover, and making them have to suffer whatever cataclysmic event goes down probably in the next 30 years.

  • @ellk420 Just because YOU are one in a billion, doesn't mean your KIDS will be too.

    Elvis is a nice example.

  • @TrustYourOwnInstinct Yeah, and pretty much every "genius" before or after. What a retarded notion-anybody ever hear of Beethoven Jr. or little Moishe Einstein? lol

  • @ellk420 it just happens you have to be a moron to be procreation.

  • Man, even if you are smart and have kids, chances are they (smart peoples kids) will become more mindless robots, replacing the current generation of mental zombies.

The social pressures for kids to conform nowdays is simply incredible.

I couldn`t (in good conscience) bring another life into this hell-hole of an existence.........and it only getting worse man.

  • @doggypound1

Oh please man. "The social pressure for kids to confirm NOWADAYS." Why is it that people always claim the modern times have gotten so worse. Was there ever a time when it was better? Look at the '50s, conformity was pushed on people just as much as now. It all depends on your environment.

  • @TheOtium

Your telling me kids in the 50's had it worse than the Prozak consuming, sedintary, food poisoned, apathetic, video game addicted children of the new mellinia???

At least people had a spark of life in them back in the 50's.

For fucksakes man, take a look around.

There are alot more ways to push conformity nowdays (internet, video games, portable music,Facebook)

  • @doggypound1

How in ANY WAY is the internet a push for comformity. The internet is the exact opposite of conformity, you can literally say whatever you want. Yeah, many kids sit on there asses and play games without doing anything, but that has nothing to do with conforming to a social standard. You definitely have a hyper cynical view of society, which, I understand, but it's over exaggerated. Not all children are mindless apathetic drones like you claim.

  • @TheOtium

I can understand how you see me as being hyper cynical, I have been a C.O (prison gaurd) for over 10 years now. Somtimes I can be overstated, but once youve been "in the trenches" (prisons)of society, you see things in a different color

By the way,the internet can push anything, from confomity to free speech, and everything in between my friend, Its all in what you want out of it.

Not all people are mindless drones....just enough to fuck up the society.

  • @doggypound1

Now that I can agree with.

  • @ellk420 Doug would say you are an idiot, and he would be right.

  • @pretorious700 thank you for your input, really useful. I wish there were more people like you on the internet.....oh no wait, its full of them.

  • @ellk420 Keep i mind you need more fucking regulation to put up a picket fence than you need to have a kid, you have to prove someone ISN'T retarded before even talking about them being terrible parents. So when having a kid unless you are rich is a completely stupid idea, who do you think is going to make the choice more. People need a license to have kids or fuck em, we're all doomed by basic logic.

  • @ellk420 We non procreationist, Do not want our children to have to endure this world. You idiots can have the world.

  • @blaes2000 I'm only non-proc' in that *I* shouldn't have kids.

It would make me feel better knowing a few people worth a fuck are making the babies, rather that the instinct-slave breeders i see all the time :\

  • @blaes2000 than* (that* was a typo, excuse me)

  • @ellk420 S'fucked up, innit. :\

Imbeciles also seem to reproduce most profusely.

  • @ellk420 Just make sure your kids absorb his wisdom!

  • @ellk420 lots of smart people have kids :)

  • @ellk420 it's not you're genes that make you smart, its you're experiences. Doug stanhope was an outkast, just like bill hicks, they started using drugs and thinking about stuff. Most peoples are morrons not becauses they are stupid but because they have been conditioned in to being morrons, by mtv the mall commercials etc.

everyone who likes doug and is interested in his topics. google zeitgeist. Its a movement that is fighting against the system and has over 500000 members worldwide.

  • @joep0412 Doug stanhope is not for fighting against the new world order, in fact he is the opposite of what is preached in zeitgeist. watch his interview with alex jones, he states how its pointless fighting against it and if anything he would like to sign up to be part of the new world order.

  • @ellk420 Oh God... world full of mini-Doug's... hide your Jager.

  • @ellk420 your so right i felt the need to tell you so

  • @ellk420

Screw that Idiocracy rubbish. The biggest problem is people who think that intelligence has to be obtained from a method that requires no effort - inheritance. Doug READS a lot, and even though he's an alcoholic, he's become smart from his reading and reflecting on what he reads. If you expect things to get better from breeding geniuses, you aren't that smart.

  • @parhhesia Stanhope's children would have obtained intelligence from him, not through inheritance, but through experience. In the same way you learned to come across as a right prick from your parents.

  • @ellk420 Thats how it has always been and will always be.

  • @ellk420 In the words of Doug Stanhope, "What are you going to do? Have a fuck-off?"

  • @ellk420 Y asure, cause geniuses make geniuses and viceversa. Smart people can have moron kids and a genius can be born from idiots

  • @ellk420 total horseshit

  • @ellk420 you deserve a kid

  • @ellk420 There is no future for children to inherit. The end of oil matched with the corruption and suppression of renewable resource systems will bring an end to the life we take for granted today.

  • @EliteDoomer People have had this doomsday mindset for every generation since the beginning of humanity. It is meaningless.

  • @EaterofCornbread Doesn't matter, they've never faced en masse population explosion while depending on finite resources. But bacteria do everyday and it is easy to see the result.

  • @EliteDoomer It's fine to be an all anti-humanity and whatnot, but to compare humans to bacteria (in that sense) is very silly. We will continue to find ways to adapt because we have the means to, unlike said bacteria. Whether that is a good thing, though, is another matter.

  • @EaterofCornbread Bacteria grow exponentially in environments with limited resources and no chance of escape, we are doing the same thing. The Earth is our petri dish and we will run it dry.

    Break your rose coloured glasses.

Youtube search: The most important video you will ever see.

  • hey, what's the song at the end, sun glasses....raining?

  • This is an awesome interview. Showing this to my friends :P

  • Stanhope is easily the most enlightened comic out there. I think he also said it, that if he could just communicate to audiences who were 14 years old in bars(jnstead of 21 & up), he might make more of a dent.

Stanhope for Prez. FUCK the rules of the game.

  • oh, I see. there will always be power hungry people trying to spoil the pot for every one else, so no sense in raining on their parade. makes a lot of sense.

  • "stanhope was right" is something I have already said on numerous occasion

  • nice of him to shit on his friend alex jones but then suck up to him in person. as if tyranny has nothing to do with him, if everyone was as apathetic as him we'd probably all be in slave camps by now.

  • @sh4p3shifter Iam pretty certain if Doug had a glass in his hand while speaking with Alex Jones, it would be been alot different. I don't think he was drinking at all, and that is when he is at his best. I mean, look at his standups, he literally dares to say the most offensive things possible infront of large groups of people and i believe its the alcohol that drives that motivation, which is great for people who like the style.

  • @MrKinloch Haha the Sarah Palin bit on youtube is a prime example! XD Hilarious!

  • Big thanks alhough it's been a while since that great show. One of the best Stanhope interviews. Deeper stuff, not that basic shit "what inspires you", "how did you start". Big up and thanks again!

  • YOU GUYS HEARD GLOBAL WARMING CONSPIRACY THEORY

  • Christopher Hitchens: "If I could be as bright as that guy AND drunk all the time?!?"

    Hell yeah ^_^

  • Very good interview you've put together. Cheers.

Can i ask how come it took you a year to upload?

  • Fuck, I had this idea to interview Doug when he came to Amsterdam, and I pussied out. I feel like an idiot now.

  • best stanhope interview on youtube

  • Great interview. What was the name of the song at the end ?

  • Wow. I never thought I would hear Stanhope speak his thoughts without constant stuttering.

  • nice one
