No, they don't. Horses in the military today are only used in ceremonies. Modern cavalry includes tanks, strykers, LAVs, other armored vehicles and attack helicopters. Today the cavalry man on horseback riding across the plains into battle is just a idolized icon of the brave and dedicated cavalrymen that came before us. GOD BLESS THE CAV!!!!!
