@Buckymonkey23 yeah stock dogbones or any upgrade won't hang with a BL motor. They made MIP axles (what I run in mine, bulletproof) but discontinued them. Tranny won't last either. Had to get mine custom built.
It has taken a lot to get this WK to handle BL power. In this vid it still had the aluminium tranny. ( didnt last long) Counting broken parts and every mod since out of the box its pushing $2000. But I have some custom parts (steel tranny and slipper clutch) So really unless you find some steel gears for it than its not worth it. It will cost you $35 a week in alum. tranny gears.
what is different with the cvd and how did u lock the diff cause i bent my axles alot and i was going to get some cvd but i didnt know the different in them thanks
CVDs are the best axles you can get. Instead of the axle being two seperate peices (dogbone and spindle) it is just one peice put together with a ball and socket joint with a pin holding it together. I have a set in my WK, Rusty, and HR and I broke 1 once in the WK but it was because the bearings were shot and the vibration made the pin wear loose.
I used JB weld to lock the diff in the HR but they sell a racing diff for it too.
so have you upgraded your hi roller anymore? i got one a lil while back and slowly gettin it where i want it to be. still tryin to get it to handle brushless a lil better though
I have the full metal tranny but I had to lock the diff because the side diff gears are cast and they cant hang. Cvd axles and rc-10 wheels because the stock rims strip easily. works great now.
yea ive got the full metal tranny already, probly gonna get the cvd axles too, already broke 2 stockers lol but ive been lucky so far and havent stripped any rims yet
My gears are custom made along with the slipper clutch.
I have the steel hex but I have stripped out a couple sets of rims. I would keep them plastic because they are only a couple of bucks and they usually break b4 the rim does.
Cool. Good luck with your build. If you have any more ?'s just ask,, and you should check out my video from today. I was really beating on the King. Held up fine too.
The slipper protects the tranny, well basically the whole drivetrain by slipping when there is to much pressure. Instead of breaking parts. The lockouts just stiffin up the rear. Takes away the c-cups and knuckles. Changes the dog bones to straight HD steel driveshafts. Very good mod. STRC or Hot Racing work great.
I don't really know. The stock wheelbase is 9.4" and with the 130mm it takes it to 13.5" and my lower link mounts from Liquid RC make it a total of 15" Those aren't the mounts in this vid tho I just got them
does having a brushless motor in it destroy the axles?!?!?!?
im thinking about putting a brushless motor in mine.

You shouldn't put paddles on the front of a rear wheel drive truck it gives it a lot of resistance.
