wow u held your breath for 2 mins, thats really good, can you give me some tips on how to hold my breath longer i'm 18 years old trying to spearfish. Cheers
I'm amazed at all your videos I keep bumping into. I talked with you on Spearboard a while back. . . SUP, longboarding, freediving, triathlon. . .same stuff I do. LOL! I've got an intermediate freedive class coming up in Miami in a couple weeks with PFI. Looking forward to it. Anyway, keep up the good work with the videos. . . they're really EXCELLENT! BTW, my sister teaches signing at her church up in Maryland.
@rtdean I sometimes tell people it's easier to just ask me what I DON'T do. :-) There's a lot more that I do. Kiteboarding, white-water kayaking, paddling the full Molokai Hoe course solo, etc. I just don't hear or talk! :-) I've heard great things about PFI and wish I could take their advanced course as the intermediate course would be kinda a moot point for me these days. :-( Oh well - I'll continue to learn what I can online.
I've just learn about those FPI courses NOW, here! eheh
But even living in Madeira Island, (a PERFECT place to dive), it's difficult to have acess to courses and related free diving issues without travelling! =( So, like you Blessumm, I've to instruct myself, witch is fine, but not perfect of course!
So, is there any good sites around where I can learn more and more about this amazing world of free diving? =))
@RuiPerestrelo Check out the forums and articles at deeperblue net - I've found that site to be the best place for free-diving information. The MAIN and most IMPORTANT thing is to never train alone (unless you're training away from the water).
Actually Erin Magee, one of PFI's instructors, is fluent in sign language and just recently assisted with a student who was deaf so this should not discourage you from participating in PFI's courses.
I sent Matthew, my old college roommate to PFI. I did not attend because I felt that I did not fit the intermediate category any longer and did look into taking the advanced course but apparently I have to take the intermediate course first. One of my dive partners is/was a Martin Stepanek FF and a PFI instructor and apparently I know/practice what is taught in the intermediate courses. I also dive past 170', instruct divers here, etc. I still do try to steer students towards PFI though.
@completeplay I always wanted to take a PFI course, but could not because PFI would not provide me with an sign language interpreter. I know Kirk and Mandy a bit and they do sign a bit, but not enough. So instead, I became self-taught, relying on second-hand information from others who have taken the PFI and other courses. One has to do with what one can get I suppose.
I like the eyeofmine housing for my gopro HD - it wroks great other than blurry edges in R4 mode.
Brah Awsome video!!!

Ah, so this is what the Eye Of Mine housing looks like at 960p. A little in the corners but not too bad. Thanks for sharing, needed this.

Cool video.....You have the dive characteristics of a PFI student.....I am actually an instructor for PFI. Are you happy with the Gopro fix?
