this is the best game out there. was my favourite game and always will be. because all people play is cod now, this game is better than all of the call of duty games. best classic ever
god this game is the greatest. When people talk about TP and Skyward Sword being the best zelda game it offends me, they are great games but this is a masterpiece.
I love Skyward Sword, but Ocarina of Time still stands as my favorite Zelda game. No other story line and definitely by far no music in any other game compares. Simply the best game ever made.
I dont think i can describe the happiness and nostalgia these songs bring back ...Hours spent on Epona galloping around Hyrule field(getting nervous when it turned dark :P), hours spent in the fishing lake..trying to get the secret lure , hours spent sneaking into Hyrule castle..I used to then go to bed, and wake my mum up in the middle of the night because Link was 'sitting at the end of my bed'haha . Beautiful game.Beautiful memories <3 <3
Fun Fact: The main melody in this theme is the warp whistle melody from Super Mario Bros 3. If you want to hear it for yourself, search "warp whistle trick" on youtube and click on the first result.
@bmcj199 Oh well thanks for noting that. Even as a huge Zelda fan, I've never played the very first Zelda game. I think it's cool when composers reuse their materials in different contexts though
age does not matter, interest does. i say as long as you experienced n64 classics (starfox, donkey kong 64, bomberman 64, super mario 64, smash bros etc) then you have yet to experience true gaming
I love Skyward Sword, but Ocarina of Time still stands as my favorite Zelda game. No other story line and definitely by far no music in any other game compares. Simply the best game ever made.
@zt76831 No kidding man... incredible memories. Wish more games were like this as opposed to CoD or any of those other generic shooters. Really happy about Skyward Sword, well worth my time and money.
I love everything about this game, the beautiful music, the gameplay. This game is more challenging and sophisticated then alot of games that come out now. A masterpiece.
@link991 Excuse me, my wording was kind of fucked. A ripoff owned by disney. And disney has nothing to do with Ocarina of time. Was replying to someones question.
@CaptainWolfy99 I think he's trying to put out the constant usage of a game would damage your brain and you wouldn't know that there was 24 hours in a day. Or he's just really, really dumb.
Holy shit. I just flashed back my child hood. This shit is so emotional. I LOVED this and wheep inside at the time that has gone. I can't help but to compare and contrast where I am now, and where I was. It's mind shattering. I miss those times :(
To this day, it's just such a pleasure to sit down and play this game, each and every time. No other game even comes close. Ah, my childhood. Those were the good ol' days.
You sir, have taken words from my mouth... It's games like these that make children's imaginations flourish, like mine. Playing ever since I was 4 years old, I've tried every genre, tons of titles, nearly every system and there is nothing in the world like blowing the dust out of a LoZ cartridge. The music has always stayed with me and after my 64 broke I lost it all... Just this Christmas I got one and all my old favorite games... Hearing that opening song and the twinkling musi
this melody brings tears to my eyes. i mean this game brings back so many great memories of my childhood. i remember when i first got this game with my n64 and ever since then this masterpiece changed my life. nothing can never replace this game i truly hold this game dear to my heart. even when im 80 i can tell my kids and my grandchildren that the legend of zelda will be the greatest game you will ever play...period.
This game is the best no game out the can compete with Zelda Ocarina of time or its series this game always has a place in my heart and in every ones here So take a stand and pat ourselves on the back we made this game great in our own special way! - A true Zelda Fan,
yo jugaba a este juego cuando tenia 4 años y me encantaba no sabria describir como me sentia pero era lo mejor k me pudo haber pasado . me gustaria tener otra vez 4 años y jugar =(
this game is so epic you can't describe it...but you can say that it is full of emotion an simple but awesome story line and the best game soundtrack that a game ever had. i really never played a game where the soundtrack was so insane but i have to say that every zelda soundtrack fits the game to that it belongs almost perfect and like others said this is the best zelda game ever released...the only two games that are coming close to this are A link to the past and twilight princess! i <3 zelda
No word in the dictionary can describe the amazing, beautiful feeling of this game. Spending about a full day's worth of hours just on this game. Those were the memories. There was more then just running around shooting people. There was a story. Play it 1,2,3 times and it never got boring. I always got so exited going into the temple of time and turning into Adult Link for the first time. It made me feel like I can be more then just a kid. I miss those days... so bad....
The legend of zelda ocarina of time is realy my favourite game of all time...i agree with insid3rkill3r...the emotions...i will always remember this game...and if i could erase my memory only for this game...i would :(
although i was born in 98 and didnt get to experince this game firsthand on an n64 i still love this game and almost all of nintendos that was made just by them! and also people should stop doing unthoughtful comparisons of zelda games, they are meant to fit together!
I have been gaming since I was 4 years old and out of all the magnificent games I have played, after listening to several soundtracks of classic games as i played through them, this is the one song that gets me every time. There is no other song that reminds me of my childhood more than this piece right here. I am not ashamed to say that this brings tears to my eyes; every time I hear this I think back to my childhood and how carefree it was to be a child. Thank you Nintendo.
I remember one day years back that my older brother had bought an N64 game off a friend. It was this game. I remember seeing it for the first time. My brother was running around kokiri forest. Since then, I became a fan of the series, beat the game several times, and write my tear-dropping stories about my experience with the game in youtube comments.
@davakurosaki BRING IT ON!!! I bought the guide so I had something to hold me over until christmas >_< but I heard that it's significantly dumbed down in the 3DS version. Actually, the entire game is.
I miss the 90s and early 2000's games were all about fun not money and graphics. Games dont feel special anymore you get the occasional games that stand out but seriously Call of duty same shit literally for 4 years straight. Games were more unique back then.

And most of all, better than ANY of those FPS games, including Call of Duty and Halo. This was my childhood. It was all our childhoods. It was the best then. And it's the best now. LONG LIVE OOT!
No words can describe the emotions that bloomed within me when i played this game for the first time..... not knowing where the adventure would lead me the more i progressed.... i wish that i could today play that game like i had never played it before. As big of a zelda fan that i am.... i can't in anyway enjoy an other game as much as i enjoyed this one..... Ocarina of time is the ultimate benchark..... and everything is a deception compared to it...... i miss those days so bad
@insid3rkill3r i'm with you there.... i know they made a remake to the 3DS but.... its nothing like dusting off the N64 and the Ocarina of Time Cartage... and play it the way it was meant to be played... No games today can replace this game...... i hate games like CoD since they have no story its just... shooting stuff
loll, i dont why people hate the water temple so much lol.... i mean sure lowering down the water to put it back up if you failed something was annoying... but i dont think it was THAT bad loll.... for me, i think i hated the shadow temple the most ;)
It makes me weird, thinking that in a few years, Skyward Sword and other relatively recent LoZ games may be considered "old school classics". Ocarina Of Time will always have a special place in my heart.
@Akuve3 What are you saying? I already beat Ocarina of Time on the 3DS. Master Quest was a bitch to beat but it was cool, besides the damn water temple. I spent so long to beat that temple...
@MasterOfPuppets4080 xD True true. I just didnèt find Skyward Sword that great... :/ I mean it was awesome, yeah, but I still feel like I enjoyed OoT more, and even Twilight Princess. But hey, I understand if you think Skyward Sword is better. :)
@Akuve3 Well Ocarina of Time did get me into the series. 4 months later I got posters of the series on my walls :D So if it wasn't for Ocarina of Time, I'd never get into the series. So I owe it all to that game :)
I Distinctly remember sitting on the bean bag chair, playing this game and having such a great time as a kid....genuine fun. Damn shame life gets in the way :/
I think it's just brilliant how they made this epic game and had a very relaxing title theme. I'd expect some kind of huge orchestra music (midi, okay).
But this song really gives me the feeling that there is an epic journey waiting for me, a giant world to explore and I only have to press start to start it :P.
@jamescracksthesky No. It's a beautiful song for a beautiful work of art made by people who simply are the most amazing artists who have ever practiced the art of video gaming.
Just finished Skyward Sword. Game was awesome, one of my favorites. It had some beautiful music (Silent Realm music to be more specific), but Ocarina's simple melodies are much more memorable.
I have Zelda OOT for the N64. The only sad thing is that I never got to play it. My brother sold the N64 for money before I could try out the game. The game still sits on my headboard, and never will I ever get to experience the epicness of this game. I feel so sad now...
@EpicCinemaxx ..there is also a collectors disk with OOT and MM plus the first legend of zelda and the second side-scroller..that is for gamecube and obv it's compatible with the Wii...there is also a master quest (harder dungeons) version of OOT that came with the first release of wind waker on the gamecube....play it if you can..it's still a great game!! :D
I want to play this again since I haven't played since I was like 5, but I am far too lazy to find my chords... I hate how retarded my brother is with the chords..
ive beeten this game over 10 times and need to baet it 10 more this game never gets old

(By the way, the gerudo fortress part is amazingly cool)

@insid3rkill3r i'm with you there.... i know they made a remake to the 3DS but.... its nothing like dusting off the N64 and the Ocarina of Time Cartage... and play it the way it was meant to be played... No games today can replace this game...... i hate games like CoD since they have no story its just... shooting stuff

It makes me weird, thinking that in a few years, Skyward Sword and other relatively recent LoZ games may be considered "old school classics". Ocarina Of Time will always have a special place in my heart.

It's too bad our days as childhood, has ended, but the legacy of old school nintendo lives on though.

Akuve3 1 month ago
@Akuve3 What are you saying? I already beat Ocarina of Time on the 3DS. Master Quest was a bitch to beat but it was cool, besides the damn water temple. I spent so long to beat that temple...
MasterOfPuppets4080 1 month ago
@MasterOfPuppets4080 xD True true. I just didnèt find Skyward Sword that great... :/ I mean it was awesome, yeah, but I still feel like I enjoyed OoT more, and even Twilight Princess. But hey, I understand if you think Skyward Sword is better. :)
Akuve3 1 month ago
@Akuve3 Well Ocarina of Time did get me into the series. 4 months later I got posters of the series on my walls :D So if it wasn't for Ocarina of Time, I'd never get into the series. So I owe it all to that game :)

What I never understood... is why.... of all the scenes the could have chosen to play after... why did the choose the Koume and Kotake scene...?
Link's Nightmare would have been a better fit.

I think it's just brilliant how they made this epic game and had a very relaxing title theme. I'd expect some kind of huge orchestra music (midi, okay).
But this song really gives me the feeling that there is an epic journey waiting for me, a giant world to explore and I only have to press start to start it :P.

Just finished Skyward Sword. Game was awesome, one of my favorites. It had some beautiful music (Silent Realm music to be more specific), but Ocarina's simple melodies are much more memorable.

Well I gotta say Its the best game ever. It's plot is a wonderful discovery. I got to tell you, Skyward Sword or TP better than OoT? FUCK NO!

I have Zelda OOT for the N64. The only sad thing is that I never got to play it. My brother sold the N64 for money before I could try out the game. The game still sits on my headboard, and never will I ever get to experience the epicness of this game. I feel so sad now...
EpicCinemaxx 1 month ago
@EpicCinemaxx There are three easy solutions to that.
1) Get an emulator and download the game.
2) Buy it on the Virtual Console
3) Get an N64 at Play n' Trade
Koshea2 1 month ago
@EpicCinemaxx ..there is also a collectors disk with OOT and MM plus the first legend of zelda and the second side-scroller..that is for gamecube and obv it's compatible with the Wii...there is also a master quest (harder dungeons) version of OOT that came with the first release of wind waker on the gamecube....play it if you can..it's still a great game!! :D
