Andy Frost in fact has been to the States and won an event touted as being a street car event.. He is a nice typical car guy who happens to have a bad fast car, truth be told, I would bet he could buy 3 cars like mine for the amount of money thats in his car.. He and others from around the World will be coming to Canada to compete again in Aug. of 08'... You can BET I will be there to try and put a hurtin' on him!!

well theres a guy in my town who has a 66-67 nova with aprox 680 HP under the hood, tubbed, full cage, backhalved for sure(may be full chassis i cant remember for sure) and its his "street car" not a daily driver but will be out whenever the weather is nice. he pulled that motor out of his full caged 67 camaro. also there is another camaro in the 500hp range, a later 60's mustang fastback over 500hp that one of my old bosses helped his cousin build.
you can have whatever you want done to that motor, running around with 3 feet wide slicks.......but if you don't have a/c and heat with at least a tape deck....your no street car

The easy way to make HP is with high compression or boost (which this car does not have). Besides, it's kind of impractical to drive a car on the street that needs RACE gas that cost 4x the amount of pump gas.
Ok.. Whatever you say. The car has a 15 gallon tank and gets 10-11mpg with 89 to 93 octane fuel, on the highway at 70-75mph. Do the math!! It drove for over a THOUSAND miles on the highway for FIVE DAYS to get the title of "Fastest Street Car in America".

I say bring whatever junk you have out and give it a try before you talk about something you know NOTHING about.. A number of solid cars gave it a try.. 122 started and only about 70 finished, many of them had been wounded along the way.

i ran the fastest time there of any car in testing prior to the event and had a bad fuel pump fuse take me out .. absolulty NOTHING that couldnt have happened to a STOCK CAR i didnt over heat i didnt have any problem with the drive IN FACT i fixed the pump FINISHED the drive and made a pass after the event was over just to prove the point.

A street car, in my opinion atleast, is a vehicle that is built for street/strip runs but can still be relied upon as a daily driver, if necessary. People DRAG RACE in a straight line because it's the only true test of horsepower. This car has well over 1000hp and it runs 160+ MPH in 8 seconds, it would take a BMW about 25 seconds to reach that speed. Don't get me started on "handling curves" drag racing is about 0 to 1/4 mile in as fast as possible. BTW, What BMW can out perform a Corvette Z06 or a Dodge Viper? The only true test of _horsepower_? Any drag racer would argue w/that. Drag racing is about acceleration. There's A 2-banger diesel engine that can turn out 108,920 hp at 102 rpm (5.6 MILLION ft/lbs torque) all day long. But the 4,600,000 lb weight makes it less than ideal for drag racing...

Look we could spend the rest of our lives talking about why one car is better than the other, lets just say a Veyron is quicker round a track, a drag car is quicker in a straight line, a world rally car is quicker on a rally course, a 4x4 is quicker of road, and a truck is quicker at transporting heavy goods....LOL....

Its MY car and I am here to say that the noise at the end of the run was the tire rubbing the quarter. When the car got crossed up it caught and bent the quarter panel causing it to rub the tire..

well theres a guy in my town who has a 66-67 nova with aprox 680 HP under the hood, tubbed, full cage, backhalved for sure(may be full chassis i cant remember for sure) and its his "street car" not a daily driver but will be out whenever the weather is nice. he pulled that motor out of his full caged 67 camaro. also there is another camaro in the 500hp range, a later 60's mustang fastback over 500hp that one of my old bosses helped his cousin build.

A veyron is a roadcar,this 4 wheels machine is a dragster.You cant compare them.put them on a race round a track and i bet the veyron win. a dragster is built up to go fast on a straight line and that's it. Look what happens when AMG try to put more than 600 hp in a coupe, it's just rubbish 'cause there is no more grip in the corners. get 1000hp is easy with all the available technology. if you want a real car, just make something homogeneous. btw,it would have been better an outside viewpoint

Sweet car and video. The people bashing the car have no idea what it takes to get 1000+ hp to the ground. Japanese, American, European, whatever it is, has to be reinforced to handle the power and sacrifices "cornering". Dragsters are not built to turn, it is a test of speed, not driving around a track which I am a fan of. I love how most of the people here have never driven anything 400+ hp... have some respect.

3DDDs: YOU ARE AN ASS!! Thats the point, THIS CAR DOES NOT NEED HIGH OCTANE FUEL TO GO FAST!! This cars engine could have been built with high compression which NEEDS 116 octane fuel! The easy way to make HP is with high compression or boost (which this car does not have). Besides, it's kind of impractical to drive a car on the street that needs RACE gas that cost 4x the amount of pump gas.

Ok.. Whatever you say. The car has a 15 gallon tank and gets 10-11mpg with 89 to 93 octane fuel, on the highway at 70-75mph. Do the math!! It drove for over a THOUSAND miles on the highway for FIVE DAYS to get the title of "Fastest Street Car in America".

Let me tell you asshat, Driving around in the rain for almost five days and 1500 miles has NO relationship with the "Special Olympics".. I say bring whatever junk you have out and give it a try before you talk about something you know NOTHING about.. A number of solid cars gave it a try.. 122 started and only about 70 finished, many of them had been wounded along the way.
You won't bring your junk out cause it wouldn't make the first leg of the trip.. Be honest!

i ran the fastest time there of any car in testing prior to the event and had a bad fuel pump fuse take me out .. absolulty NOTHING that couldnt have happened to a STOCK CAR i didnt over heat i didnt have any problem with the drive IN FACT i fixed the pump FINISHED the drive and made a pass after the event was over just to prove the point.

You gotta understand, it gets a little old hearing about all these supposed street cars that are nothing more than racecars with tags that can't make it 10 miles on the street.. I drove 1500 MILES in 5 days to 5 tracks and ran low 8s w/o one single problem. Until you have given that a try you have no idea what its REALLY about..

Dont get me wrong, this is a sweet car. Im all about muscle, but to be honest, this isnt a "street" car. A street car, in my opinion atleast, is a vehicle that is built for street/strip runs but can still be relied upon as a daily driver, if necessary. Anything that's tubbed/panned shouldnt be considered a street car, imo.

First of all, Ford didn't start making a mustang until halfway through the 1964 model year, so you have no clue about american cars at all. Also Ford owns Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover, GM owns Saab and Chrysler, aka Dodge owns the Mercedes Benz, so I would say a good portion of the world drives American cars, not to mention how many Toyotas are now made in America.

People DRAG RACE in a straight line because it's the only true test of horsepower. This car has well over 1000hp and it runs 160+ MPH in 8 seconds, it would take a BMW about 25 seconds to reach that speed. Don't get me started on "handling curves" drag racing is about 0 to 1/4 mile in as fast as possible. BTW, What BMW can out perform a Corvette Z06 or a Dodge Viper? The only true test of _horsepower_? Any drag racer would argue w/that. Drag racing is about acceleration. There's A 2-banger diesel engine that can turn out 108,920 hp at 102 rpm (5.6 MILLION ft/lbs torque) all day long. But the 4,600,000 lb weight makes it less than ideal for drag racing...
