If you cant perform the songs by yourself, or have the correct race actors when it is vital to the production or even follow what was on the recording with the choreography a bit better then why do this. Im sure it was fun, but this isnt a tribute to the show but a put down if you ask me. Sorry, but good effort, just not a great effort.

Okay ummmmm firstly; I think that the "race" of the cast is VERY important. There HAS to be BLACK and WHITE kids playing the parts. That's the whole POINT of hairspray. Edna was the best bit of this whole dance to be honest.

People, just to make it clear that this was not a Hairspray show, it was a show where little fragments of Broadway and West End shows presented in Brazil by the students of an english-teaching school. The objective of this was not to present hairspray exactily how it is. It was to give an idea of the show,especially since people in Brazil don't really have access to them, and just have a little fun, which we had. So, for us, mission accomplished.

Why does it matter what race, hair color, or weight they are/have? At least they didn't paint them black face. Wasn't the story also about looking past a person's race and/or weight when you judge them. Tracy doesn't have to be a big girl to still tell the same story. And Seaweed doesn't necessairly have to be black. Should this had been a complete production and the audience not completely stupid, I'm pretty sure they could have figured out what was going on.

I worked with the original choreographer of Hairspray on Broadway, and I have to say, you got pretty darn close. Still though, I know that fore the purpose, it would be impossible to cast this. Also, Link needed some SERIOUS hairspray. The hair. Should not. Move.
