studpuppy 69 your a douche and no one likes cummins cuz they are overrated, maybe do some research on a Duramax before you talk shit, and realize that they are going to be the next generation, and oh ever heard of EFI Live GM made that breakthrough
@DR0IDXXX You think you know what you are talking about, but you have no clue. Cummins are not overated. Never have been, never will. EFI Live is not gm, nor is it endorsed by Gm. When you say that "they are going to be the next generation", you have no clue what you are talking about. I want you to compare life expectancy, fuel economy, and torque outputs of a cummins with a Dmax, and tell me what you find. Try not to sound like a "douche" and "do some research" before you run your mouth.
@spaztack If really compare the two you will find that you will have to work on or replace something loooong before a duramax. My dad and my brother both drive duramax's, Dads is a 2004 lb7 and brothers is a 2006 lly. my brother has had zero parts replaced.only Part replaced on either of the trucks was a water pump on my dads. My brother had a 2006 cummins before the dmax, and he bought the cummins 5 days before my dad bought his truck, and the dodge broke too many times to count.
@ithinkimgonnaskeet11 Um I am sorry. You come in all high and mighty talking about how wonderful duramax's are, and your only case against cummins are "the dodge broke too many times to count". You do know that the dodges are the simplest of the diesels. You also have no case, all you are using is very bland details because you dont know what the hell you are talking about. And your mechanic, driver, or maintanee must have been a dumbass if the dodge "broke down too many times to count"
@ifixforusguys yes those engines were probably the most problematic engine ever made thats why i don't under stand why people like fords they just like the way they look but what matters is whats under the hood fords are all gay
@fossilknife My 04 d max injectos went out at 90000 miles and at a cost of 4500 to replace i traded in on 6.0l p stroke it has been great so far has 180000 on orig injectors and turbo no probs here
Dont feel bad... i had an 04 duramax 05 duramax and now have a 06 duramax... all of them have had new injectors put in them along with the passenger side wheel bearing. my previous boss had an 03 and put two sets in his truck before he hit 190000 miles. its never ending
@75farmerdan mine just went out yesterday in my 03 lb7 and my warranty ended may of this year. my oil pressure went down all of a sudden and then when i checked my oil it smelled like pure diesel. $3,500 out of pocket fix
Hey i have a question i've always wanted to ask. how do you rip a seat up like that? Like the first time it happens you're like fuck it and just keep letting it get ripped?
haha it just urks me as expensive as these trucks were when new that someone would let their seat get shredded instead of putting a cover on it or getting it fixed.
@JayandJenn07 True, but the 03-04 LB7s are still prone to injector problems. I dont have a problem with the LB7s, theyre my favorite Dmax motor. Once the injectors have been replaced (if they have gone out) they great running trucks. The only problem I have with them is the overpriced injectors u have to buy.
@SparkZ1420 But what if it has the new style injectors and the injector test says good injectors. Once warmed up (30 miles) it won't restart at all without a sniff of starter fluid. When its subzero and not even plugged in it will crank off in 5 seconds. Dealers had it for a month.
I just go around asking random people cuz I don't know what the fuck else to do at this point.
It wouldn't have happened if u didn't have that John deer tractor license plate. U disgrace duramax.

Get a gas engine next time or a Cummin's. Modern V8 diesel's just don't sound good. a V8 gas engine does.

Normal for a duramax
jesshwarren 1 year ago
@jesshwarren only normal for the LB7 motor. 2001-2004. Other than the injector design, the LB7 is a great motor.

it was a common problem with the 01-02's although they were the lb7 from 01-04 were all the same motor, gm had addressed the issue after 02.
