  • Baby Blue Soundcrew! Classic!

  • Canada!! <3

  • THIS BEAT WAS AND IS DOPE! WHERE IS THE VIDEO HOLY COW??

  • every genre of music changes daily, slowly but surely.

  • ♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪ siiikk tuneee

  • love it! takes me back.

  • throw back!

  • I used to blare this shit out on my radio when this song came on The Beat my Vancouver local radio station! I love it and now blasting it out loud on my sound system love it classic rap Love it just brings back good old memories.

  • choclair and kardinall put t.dot on the map HEAVY

  • where's the music video to this???

  • TORONTO ALL DAY

  • this is a rap classic in canada everyone knows this...i'm not sure about the americans tho

  • those down south hip hop songs and dance step type songs can be catchy in small amounts so there fun to listen to every once in a while but there was just to much of the same type of hip hop and rap coming out its getting better now though

  • Too bad the real vid got taken down.

  • not old at all rookies

  • still such a sick track

  • I want the actual video not a picture.

    anybody know where it at?

  • HipHopCanada had the video but YouTube suspended the channel...

  • Why did YouTube do that for??????

  • look for it

  • These days rap is kind of all the same and back then are better than most songs

And I mean 90's was dope and this song is the shit and also may be old but fuckin good!!

  • pumps the radio that pumps the g's in my bank

  • I remember when this song dropped, its still a big tune.

  • REPRESENTING THE 905 ! ! ! we almost 100 STRONG................// ALL THE GTA GO HARDER THAN MOST SO ITS SIMPLE EITHER YOU WITH US OR YOURE AGAINST

  • How? The tune isn't terrible...it's actually better than most so-called "hip-hop" tunes in 2009. IMO, auto-tune and corny ass southern rap killed hip-hop...not all southern rap is bad though. The biggest problem with hip-hop today is lack of originality...everyone is doing the same shit.

  • and props to my boy blaine who's baby blue volkswagen they used in the vid

  • Actually the song that killed Hip Hop was Crank That by Soulja Boy

  • I don't think there's ONE song that "killed" hip-hop...it was a movement..."Laffy Taffy", "A Bay Bay", etc. IMO, hip-hop began to die slow a few years before "Crank That". Now I listen to mostly 90s hip-hop, because most of the new shit is wack.

  • word. check out some of my videos, 90's was the shit.

  • 1 Song did kill hip hop dude, Bling Bling by BG and Cash Money killed hip hop, it was all downhill from there...

  • @BlackJays ...chicken noodle soup, you're a jerk, weeble wobble, anything gucci, wacka, or plies.... mainstream rappers either rhyme purposely whack/ or actually are, dumb as fuck, either way 2005- present has been very shitty , with a few songs here and there, that are catchy and worth listening to, but all the sweet shit is gone, forever..Big pun, biggie, pac, big l, slum v, early bone thugs stuff,.....Today's music has so many crappy rappers!! The only good rappers are unsigned,

  • No man, take it a few years back, Bling Bling by BG killed hip hop... the fuckin song started a whole bullshit floss movement, substance music was out the day it came out, 1999.

  • Hip hop was killed long before that - Commodification of black culture in an ever coopting popular culture meant that it was inevitable that subcultural movements/styles/fashions/music were to become mainstream.

Layer the american dream over that and you have a recipe for bearded fatasses to drive Bentleys...yes Rick Ross i'm talking about you....

  • you say that now but it was jammin back in the day, people being trend following assholes is what killed hip hop

  • @AGLegend01 better yet, Soulja boy killed music in general

  • @AGLegend01

how does a song kill a genre? by your logic every genre is dead because every genre has had shitty songs that went popular. beauty is in the eye of the beholder, just because millions of people like a song you think is shitty doesn't mean a genre is dead. when crank dat came out did every rapper die? no? so hip hop is alive.

  • ? this guys sick. Atleast he has lyrics.

  • @lumifax what are you talking about, this is one of the tracks that brought canadian hip hop to the mainstream.

  • @lumifax ignorant american.

  • @lumifax you're the reason why 9/11 happened

"this shit is what fucked up hip hop"

    lumifax 1 year ago

MIMS & Choclair - Love 'Em All

  • @lumifax

lol your comment got removed from so many negative votes. That shows you have no taste in true hip-hop. Do you know illigoic....if you say yes and you like him - you will have earned hiphop redemption.

  • Oh shit I remember bumpin this back in the day <3* Good times man!

  • Fuck yea, this song rocks. I remember pumping my 12' subs to dis

  • T.O.R.O.N.T.O

  • i remember this song, wuz mims origanally frm canada? if he is wht a cockhopper, he reps usa now

  • Nah he isn't Canadian, he just worked with Baby Blue Soundcrew.

  • I definitely remember this song and it's still great but I can't believe that MIMS and Mr. MIMS are the same guy, all these years just thought it was some Toronto rapper and some unrelated guy with a similar name. This Is Why I'm Hot totally sucked ass, that ain't real rap.

  • Ah lie!! I didn't even realize that the MIMS on this toon was the same MIMS. I never overstood why yankee cats would come to Canada to get on the rap scene (Frank n dank, Cipher, MIMS etc.) & all Canadian cats r trying to blow down where they @.

  • Probably because there's too much competition in American cities, and they likely have a better chance of blowing in Canada. Or it could be because they want to expand their fanbase before they blow up.

  • @BlackJays no,

  • @Punzflaggin Fuck, I haven´t heard new Frank N Dank shit in a minute

  • yea and they had these girls eating them and like a huge party after if my memory suits me right

  • When MIMS came out, I told everyone that I heard him before, they all thought I lied. THen like a year ago MIMS was on much (I think Nardwar) and he mentioned Kardinal, and Mims was like 'Yeah I love toronto that's where I got my first single' and they played this song. Everyone knew this it was crazy, baby blue sound crew!!

  • i swear Baby Blue Soundcrew was on this ....huh.... guess im off point

  • It's from Volume 2 of the Baby Blue Soundcrew compilation series so you're definitely ON point. Check the video for the song on our profile... it was just uploaded.

  • GYEEEEEEEEE grade 7 jamzzzzzzzzz babyblue cleaned uppppppp

  • i love this song!!! i remember it from back in the day....t dot stand up!!! thanks 4 postin, keep reppin and doin ur thang

  • dude are you serious that group i think they were called the Rascals gave up a Juno award because they said that rap wasent big enough in canada yet so they said they couldnt accept the award its guys like them that are fucking goofs im sorry but if you get an award for something that took you time and effort to accomplish and you give it up your a freaking douchebag.

  • They didn't turn it down because hip-hop wasn't big enough, they were trying to send a message. They wanted hip-hop to be taken more seriously in Canada. It's a good thing they did that, because the people who ran the Junos decided to let them perform on stage the next year. Yeah, freaking douchebags, that made some freaking sick music.

  • hey you want to know what happened to Choclair?? well he lives in scarborough in a town house and is unemployed because the only one that could survive making hip hop in canada is Kardinal there you go kids. history lesson.

  • Sorry, I removed your second by comment accident. You know what, that attitude is the reason why no other Canadian hip-hop artists have made it big. All they do is complain about how easy American rappers have it in the states, but Kardinal is the only one who didn't give up.

  • The reason why Toronto rappers don't make it big is because they don't believe in themselves, or they don't do enough to get themselves to the top. Since we're the "screwface capital", there's alot of haters, and that's not a good thing, especially when the city has alot of talent.

  • Sure, Choclair didn't "make it", but he did reach alot of milestones along the way. "Let's Ride" was on the Billboard charts, he got his video played on BET, did collabos with American rappers, signed to Priority Records, etc. It's funny how he happens to be one of Canada's most successful rappers, isn't it? We don't appreciate the pioneers who helped pave the way. We we're supposed to build from that. Hopefully, our rappers will actually do something big now that Kardi's making noise.

  • biggg track i remember bumpin this track. now can ne1 tell me where the video is at. baby blue soundcrew has the illest beats TDOT stand up. we love em all u know that we love em all

  • i remember this video had an xbox before they even came out, lol.

such a dope track, what ever happened to baby blue and choclair?

  • no clue dogg baby blue was almost plantnum they had the dirtyest beats. look up ghetto concept - too much . baby blue kills that beat

  • yeah i remember that when it came out back in like 99 or 2000.

i like still too much more, but the original is still decent

  • could not remember this song .... but i got it now ... i knew he was da same for this is why im hot.... but on this song hes called Mr. Mims ...Much Vibe lol

  • hey i remember this song XD, okay this is my new work out song :D.

put some base on it XD. whos with me.

  • great song. reminds me of the good old days!

  • sick beat

  • Hammer song

  • GET THA ACTUALL VIIIIIDDDDD

  • yea the one where they ridin around Toronto at night flossin, I remember that shit from MUCH, NEVER got play on BET what the fuck do they know? And I'm from N.Y. not a Mims fan, only like his verse here

  • i cant lie MIMS did kill the verse even though he cant rhyme to save his life, he shoulda stayed fucking with T Dot maybe he woulda came more lyrical

  • Ohhhh shit I remember this...in the video MIMS is driving my boy's blue VW beetle...I'm sure he has the video..will upload.

  • yes it is fool

  • I was about to say, what is MIMS doing up in T dot with some real lyricists...Choc is dope btw I'm from N.Y.C. and I wish we had more lyrical dudes doin it like this!

  • Yea they both been doing they thing looking forward to both their albums later this year

  • choclair stick to the real rappers

mims is a joke to hip hop

  • u cant blame chocs...no one knew who the fuck mims was at the time.

  • so if he didnt have sucess he would be down?

u dudes kill me, stop talking about hip hop in 2008 son its dead...

  • if u think hip-hop is "dead" then you don't know real hip-hop...and it's not the fact that mims became successful, it's the fact that he became a ringtone rapper to be successful, which makes him a magnet for haters.

  • Mims was discovered by Push Plan Records. In 2001, he was featured on a compilation called Private Party Collectors Edition Vol. 2, by Toronto's Baby Blue Soundcrew. His appearance on the single "Love Em' All", alongside Choclair, briefly made him well-known in Canada. The music video was also nominated for an MMVA award.

    Do your research bitches!

  • So it IS Shawn Mims? Yeah you can tell from the psuedo Jay Z hyper flow. Choc killed it though. Funny he was known in CANADA before Washington Heights, and trust me, he aint really respected here or in Ny or in rap now is he?

  • Interesting - he isn't the only foreign musician that the Baby Blue Soundcrew featured (Sean Paul was on "Money Jane").

When I first heard "This Is Why I'm Hot," I wondered if "Mims" was the same as the "Mr. Mims" in this song. I guess I was right.

  • this is my shit

  • When 'This Is Why I'm Hot' came out, I was thinking that Mims ripped off this Mims. Same cat, who knew? This is a ILL tune still!

  • there is a video for this song i remember.... they are eating chocolate bars with their names on them

  • T-DOOOOTTTT!!!

  • jesus. Is Mr. Mims the same "This Is Why Im Hot" Mims? I remember this track from way back.
